Prior to teaching I have worked in life science Reasearch and Development and in Biopharamceutical research, sales and marketing. I also worked a part-time voluntary teaching assistant in primary and seconday schools for 2 years. In 2014 I decided to change career completely to become a science teacher, so I trained at Kings College, graduating with my PGCE in 2015.
My background prior to teaching brings additional experience and skills to my teaching. Chemistry is my specialist subject. I have taught and tutored all sciences successfully to years 7 to 11, and have taught and tutored Chemistry and Biology at A level.
I can teach Maths and Chemistry from KS2 to A level. I have been teaching since 1989. I have retired few years back from full time teaching.

I am currently a qualified and experienced Science teacher, teaching GCSE and A-Levels in a top Secondary School in Berkshire. I have graduated with a BSc degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Queen Mary University of London, which included an in-depth study of topics such as: Organic Chemistry, Kinetics, Thermodynamics, Quantum Chemistry and Biochemistry. These are topics which are all included in the new A-Level Chemistry syllabus.
Having done Chemistry, Biology, Psychology and Mathematics at A-Level and holding a BSc degree, gives me sound knowledge of the subject and I am an ambassador of the Teach First Graduate Leadership Programme. There is a huge jump from GCSE to A-Levels however my unique teaching style bridges this gap between GCSE and AS-level. I also ensure that homework is set regularly and assessed. I firmly belief that feedback is the most vital aspect to promote student progress therefore, I provided as much feedback as possible based on questions, homework and work set.

I'm Alex. I've been teaching for 8 years and am currently employed as an Assistant Headteacher at Salesian College in Farnborough.
