Prior to teaching I have worked in life science Reasearch and Development and in Biopharamceutical research, sales and marketing. I also worked a part-time voluntary teaching assistant in primary and seconday schools for 2 years. In 2014 I decided to change career completely to become a science teacher, so I trained at Kings College, graduating with my PGCE in 2015.
My background prior to teaching brings additional experience and skills to my teaching. Chemistry is my specialist subject. I have taught and tutored all sciences successfully to years 7 to 11, and have taught and tutored Chemistry and Biology at A level.
I can teach Maths and Chemistry from KS2 to A level. I have been teaching since 1989. I have retired few years back from full time teaching.

In 2016 I spent 4 months in China teaching English as a Foreign Language. I taught 5 classes, each with two lessons a week (16 weeks). I taught Business English Reading (2 classes), Oral Communication, and English Speaking and Listening (2 classes). I also taught a condensed English Speaking and Listening class with the same number of lessons but over a four week period. My classes consist of between 30 and 45 students in their third or fourth year of study. I am expected to prepare appropriately for lessons, provide weekly attendance and participation scores, and set the final exam for all classes. I have graduated with a BSc degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Queen Mary University of London, which included an in-depth study of topics such as: Organic Chemistry, Kinetics, Thermodynamics, Quantum Chemistry and Biochemistry. These are topics which are all included in the new A-Level Chemistry syllabus.
Having done Chemistry, Biology, Psychology and Mathematics at A-Level and holding a BSc degree, gives me sound knowledge of the subject and I am an ambassador of the Teach First Graduate Leadership Programme.
