Since 2013, I have been teaching at a school in Reading and have worked hard to develop both my expertise and understanding of teaching in England. In this time, I have played a key role in the development of curriculum across all Key stages, engagement and progress of students. I have had a record of good quality teaching which reflects my ambition to make a difference to children’s lives. Since 2016, I have been working as Head of Physics in the same school. I have developed the Physics assessment resources. I regularly monitor data entry and Covey results for all my classes. More rigorous assessment in KS4 and KS5 has meant that students are challenged more, enabled to achieve their highest potential and making them achieve their best. I lead the Physics intervention sessions throughout the year at KS4 and KS5 which includes planning organising and teaching exam techniques to answer numerical and long answer questions including questions based on required practicals. I have been trained to do this by the examiner from the AQA exam board. I have increased the focus on UMS at KS4-5. Science students are aware of their predicted UMS progress throughout the year based on their pre-public examinations and are able to use this to focus their revision. UMS data has also been used to target students for intervention. I am proficient in Microsoft software packages, and am able to use them efficiently to create resources for my lessons, manipulate data and create displays and information packs.
