My role as an design educator is to create a learning environment that addresses needs of a diverse population and provide students an atmosphere in which creative thinking is encouraged and developed. People are different, students learn differently and all have different personal experiences, abilities and centers of perception.
My aim is to prioritize the well-being of learners, regardless of their identities as human beings. This is most effectively accomplished through the combined efforts of both the teacher and the students. I work on cultivating personal connections with a wide range of learners by collaborating with students, educators, the community, and through my own self-reflection and professional growth.
