College Essays Tutor, Teacher
I moved to the UK from the USA after completing a Masters degree and www.*** in Classical Philology at Harvard University. My first teaching jobs in the UK were at Winchester College and Westminster School, where I taught GCSE and A-level classes in Greek and Latin.
I have published numerous articles and books on Greek literature while working as a lecturer at the University of Bristol (2007-2011) and Corpus Christi College, Oxford (2011-2016). After the birth of my third child, I stopped lecturing and took a job locally as teacher of Greek and Latin at Pilgrims' Prep School in Winchester.
At the University of Bristol, I taught undergraduates and post graduates, many of whom were Adult learners.
The diversity of my work experience has allowed me to teach from many different textbooks for beginners and intermediates and all of the popular text prescriptions for exams.
I also offer support for university applications to UK and USA universities. I give alumni interviews for Harvard applicants in the Winchester area. I am very skilled in online instruction, but I don't have a Facebook page or personal website. For my publications and academic work, I use my birth name (Hitch), many of which can be found on Google or Amazon.

My name is Anneliese and I have a First-Class Honours BSc in Environmental Science, a Distinction in Postgraduate Masters of Research in Marine Biology and I am currently being enrolled in my PhD in Marine Ecotoxicology. I have been a tutor for over 3 years and I love helping students to achieve their goals! I am friendly, patient, accommodating and engaging! Enhanced DBS check can be provided on request, as can my degree certificates.
I teach English (Literature and Language), Biology, Geography and Environmental Science (all lower to higher level) at Primary, GCSE, A Level and university/adult learner level.
I have experience with various exam boards, ranging from AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC, Cambridge International and EPQ.
I am a native English speaker and I have experience of working with students who have exam anxiety. I myself had exam anxiety throughout my GCSE's and A Levels, and thus, completely understand how daunting it can be; but there are several coping mechanisms to assist with this, which I would be happy to explain if required.
In my free time, I love to read (both fiction and non-fiction), walk my dog, tend to my allotment and my chickens! As well as paddleboard, surf and snorkel!

I am passionate about helping others reach their potential and maximise their time on their academic journey. I have extensive experience in access and outreach, and tutoring. This includes being a team leader for the Queen’s Translation Exchange where I was responsible for developing creative translation resources about Spanish literature, before delivering workshops to schools to inspire students to pursue languages at university. I was also part of the Access Team at Jesus College, Oxford, where I designed a programme for potential applicants to assist with the application process at top universities. I have delivered various sessions at schools around the country over the past 6 years.
