With an enthusiastic and creative character, I specialise in inspiring musical interest from the very beginning. I strive for maximum performance from pupils and have a strong track record in all aspects of musical education. My holistic approach to the subject achieves the highest results under the Royal Schools of Music Exam Board [ABRSM] whilst also keeping the subject light and fun. I have a natural flair for educating and also teach horse-riding to children in my spare time.

Academy students can learn purely for pleasure and educational enhancement, but if they would like to take graded exams which carry UKCC and UCAS points, they can do this through JQ Music Academy. I have a 100% pass rate at examination in both Performance and The Theory of Music - 95% of students attain the higher grades. Online tuition is available.
There will be regular progress reports, sticker rewards each week and medals each term for the most hard-working students. Success is measured on effort, not ability to ensure fairness across the board. Students will have the the opportunity to play at bi-annual concerts at a local venue with my other academy students. You will be able to communicate with me directly regarding you/your child’s progress and we can discuss opportunities for performances and examinations.

Hi, I'm Maths and German language teacher with an great experience in many different schools in the UK and in Poland. Last 5 years I have been teaching Mathematics in schools in Leicestershire, preaparing students for their tests and GCSE exams and improving their Maths skills. In Poland I was teaching German language students at age 7-16 and adulds. Teaching is my passion :)
After work I have many hobbies. I like playing squash and tennis, I like swimming and climbing. I love learning foreign languages, travelling and reading books.
I have taught Chemistry at a large Leicestershire 14-18 School for over 30 years. I have been Head of Chemistry at this school for 20 years. I teach AQA GCSE Chemistry and AQA A-Level Chemistry. I have also taught Nuffield A-Level Chemistry. I have tutored AQA, EDEXCEL, OCR and OCR(Salters) A-Level Chemistry and AQA and OCR GCSE Chemistry. I have tutored students outside of school for 26 years with much success. Many of my A-level students have achieved 100% in A-level Chemistry modules and I have tutored many GCSE students who have achieved 100% in all their GCSE modules for GCSE Chemistry. I am also a Principal Examiner for IGCSE Chemistry. I have marked both Foundation and Higher IGCSE Chemistry papers. I have been an Examiner for Singapore A-level Chemistry. Both these roles have helped me to recognise the difficulties that students have with both GCSE and A-level examination questions and the way to answer them successfully. I use this knowledge to the students advantage in my lessons. I tutor online using Skype, Zoom, Teams and FaceTime which works really well. I have had many students who have gone on to study medicine and other medical degrees. I also write multiple choice GCSE Chemistry questions for an exam board.
My approach is variable depending on the ability of the student and what they are struggling on at the time. However I believe that the practicing of past paper questions is vital for examination success. It is the attention to detail which counts in an examination and I make sure all of my students know everything in the syllabus and have practiced lots of different styles of examination question. I tutor online using Skype, Zoom, Teams and FaceTime usually texting, emailing or messaging students examination practice questions which works really well. At the moment all my tutoring is online. I am a 65 years old tutor of predominantly History and Politics, with English and Religious Studies as my supplementary subjects.

As you will note from my qualifications and professional experience, I have taught all four subjects for some 35 years, at College, University, Sixth Form College and High School. While the majority of my teaching has been in the UK, mainly in Birmingham, London and Bristol, nevertheless I have also taught abroad at university in the Philippines. Additionally, I have been an A'Level Politics and History examiner for the former London and Oxford & Cambridge boards in the 1990s and early post-millennium decade. So also, have I written course brochures for the History and Politics Distance - learning programmes for the National Extension College, Cambridge. All of this has added up to my having acquired a broad professional experience, which I put to the benefit of my students.
My teaching style is very much subject and communication based, with the emphasis applying knowledge and essay skills towards achieving the best exam results. There is also a priority attached to reading and grammar skills, both of which appear to be neglected by the contemporary British educational establishment. Hopefully I can use my experience and robust teaching methods towards enabling students to gain their best performance in exams and careers. - Please also note that I am happy to tutor students on-line - ie. I have just completed a bachelors degree in Biochemistry at the University of Nottingham specifically focusing on Cancer research which has allowed me to combine my interests of Biology and Chemistry, both of which I loved in school.
