Hi my name is Victoria and I am a fully qualified primary school teacher. I have taught in schools for the last five years, including online teaching during Covid-19. I have extensive experience in teaching and learning delivering GCSE/FS Mathematics at an excellent standard. I have taught the subject for several years and delivered excellent standard of teaching ensuring that learners master the subject.
I have been privately tutoring Mathematics to students from the ages 10-18 (Secondary School through to A-Levels) over the past four years whilst completing my Master's degree in Mathematics. I take great pride in my work as a tutor, and always make it a priority to make my students feel comfortable that they can ask me any questions at any time during a lesson. Having been on both sides of the small classroom teaching dynamic, I can sympathise with how some students may feel a sense of unease when starting a new class with a new teacher, which can ultimately impact their classroom learning. During my lessons, I like to stress the importance that this is not simply another classroom lesson where I talk and the student should remain quiet, and instead encourage my students to ask me any and all questions they have about the subject. The more they can tell me about their concerns with Mathematics, the more information I have to work with when adapting the lesson to their needs. My preferred teaching style is to look through previous work that a student has completed, and create complete breakdowns to topics/exam question solutions to give the student a step-by-step method that they can use beyond the lesson. After each lesson, I send an email with a document attached that contains all of the information discussed during the lesson, so that they can use the teachings at their own leisure in the future. If I specialise my lessons to each student, then what would be the point of me not sharing the resources afterwards? My working times are quite flexible, as I work from home, so most days from 10:00 - 18:00 work well for me. This is not a strict time window, however, so please feel free to contact me with alternative times outside of these hours, and we can see if we can make it work. Please also let me know if you have any enquiries about tutoring, including information about my qualifications before university studies, and I will be happy to share.
I am a 32 yr old care leaver. I am an experienced Class teacher and Middle Leader at Primary School level. I am also a governor for a school, and have helped schools in my role to achieve a “Good” rating during their Ofsted inspection. I was nominated two years in a row for the Jewish teaching awards. Hi, my name is Charlotte and I am currently on a gap year before going to university next year to study medicine. I have completed my GCSE's, achieving an 8 in GCSE Maths and a 7 in all three sciences (Chemistry, Biology and Physics). I have also gone on to study and complete my A-levels, gaining a B in Maths and Biology. I have also tutored pupils before in order to pass their GCSE Maths. During my A-levels, I was also tutored, so I know from both sides what it is like doing tutoring. I hope this gives you the confidence that I have knowledge in many different learning styles and revision techniques that can be tailored for each student. I feel this will help to improve every students attitude to learning and also what they get out of education, pushing them to the next level.
During my time at college, I have spent time researching and using many different revision and learning strategies in order to gain in sight into the best ways to learn in different subjects and topics etc. My tutoring style is using games, quizzes, past paper questions and revisiting certain topics with students in order to gain knowledge of the topic and an understanding of how to best answer exam questions. In lessons, students can expect to go through multiple choice questions as well as long answers and simple answer questions. We will go through the basics of each topic and then learn how to apply that knowledge to answer exam questions and gain marks.
The first meeting will be meeting each other and understand if you are the right student for me, and also if I am the right tutor for you. I will also explain to the student how my lessons run and make sure they are comfortable with everything.
