Hi! I'm Laura, a qualified Primary school teacher living in central Colchester. I have experience of teaching across the Primary age range (ages 4-11) in a range of different schools and have recent experience of working in a Special Needs school (ages 5-16). I worked at a primary school in Nigeria, teaching kids under 12 Mathematics in the year 2022.
I am an experienced maths teacher and tutor, with a strong mathematics background and knowledge. I have a maths degree from Bristol University and I have worked for years in secondary schools teaching mathematics, so I am aware of the syllabus and curriculums. I have tutored a number of Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils over the years to attain the best GCSE mathematics grade that they can. I am patient and good at explaining at all levels of difficulty. My passion and expertise lie in phonics and reading, it's my passion to teach children to read! Close second is writing, I love to help children realise their potential and unlocking their imagination in creative writing whilst meeting curriculum demands of spelling, punctuation and grammar.
