Mike offers specialised mathematics tuition and revision boosters for SATs and GCSE, for primary and secondary aged children using mastery methods used in schools. My last post as a Learning Support Teacher involved working with children with an identified Special Need eg: Autism, Dyslexia, Dyscalcula and/or Behavioural Problems. Also EAL children as I am also a qualified TEFL teacher.
I love helping children to learn and to begin to understand and master concepts that have previously challenged them.
I am patient and always allow the child to learn at their pace to ensure they have mastered each stage fully.
I teach in a fun way to engage those children who may find learning more challenging and to ensure progress.

Since my both of my daughters were diagnosed with dyslexia, I became aware of the challenges they faced every day in the classroom. This in its self spurred me on to become the year 6 teacher I am today. One who will never give up trying to find new and exciting ways to help children learn. Mainly, my forte it's SATs prep, which I've been doing for 7 years helping children not only pass their exams, but instilling confidence within to flourish for the rest of their educational careers. I also have a specialism in supporting the progress of children who have particular needs. Hi! I'm a second year student currently studying mathematics at the University of Sussex. I studied maths, further maths and chemistry in sixth form, at which time I helped out with many younger students. I did this by volunteering in a yr 7 maths class and in the homework club the school held once a week in which I helped many students in years 7-11
My goal is to always ensure that my students are enjoying their lessons and what they are learning. Achieving this ensures that my students can gain confidence and independence, and thus they are able to learn independently. I also teach my students organisational and study skills that can help them achieve improved results and that can help them in their future educational journeys. I am a qualified teacher. I have a range of experiences in school such as state junior and infant schools, private infant and junior schools, special educational needs schools, senior schools, forest schools and Montessori schools.
