I am a highly experienced and enthusiastic tutor to students up to 18 years of age with a Masters in Education and responsibility for tutoring and assessing newly qualified teachers. I have taught in schools as a senior leader for over 20 years and have been an examiner for the Edexcel and AQA exam boards for over 15 years. I pride myself in delivering personalised learning programmes to all of my students and ensure that all work completed is awarded with the highest level of written and verbal feedback. My lessons are always well resourced and are matched to the student's abilities and interests to make them challenging, engaging and enjoyable. I am very professional but also have an excellent rapport with my students. Science Clinic Private Tutors was founded in 2010. Our vision was to help struggling children understand the concepts of the major subjects which are sought after by many colleges & universities. Our tutoring was mainly in the main subjects (Maths, all 3 Sciences & English Language) to exam students only. Because of the huge demand of tutoring in all year groups, we now teach students across the board from Primary (KS1 & KS2) through to GCSE, A-level and University. We were luck to have had colleagues we share the same vision with join us. Now we can teach all subjects from Primary through to GCSE, College /A-levels and Science & Maths at University level. All our teachers / tutors are graduates and qualified teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) who understand the National Curriculum. Some of them are examiners at GCSE and A-level, which means they know the exam techniques students need to answer the exam questions properly and get better grades. First session will be free and it will be a 'get to know the student' session, as this allows for me to understand what my student weaknesses and strengths are. This will then allow for me to develop a plan moving ahead in line with mock exams and the scheme of work taught in school.

I am very confident with the methods I use as I tutor at different levels which means I can choose the right level based on student needs. I always follow a simple approach in teaching Maths I teach in a clear simple style and I make sure the student understands by testing.
I plan my lessons in advance based on student needs! I am flexible, I can do practice based on exam papers for higher levels or I can also do individual lesson plans for any topic on lower levels. I am confident with all levels.
For each lesson I send notes and I also provide workbooks and homework !

I've been a teacher and tutor for over 30 years and feel I'm just about getting the hang of it. In addition to teaching content, I focus particularly on getting my students to think more deeply about how and why they study, helping them learn better how to learn, That really is the fun of teaching. Essentially, I try to provide the kind of education and support I would want for my own children. Not that I actually do provide that for my own children, of course; I’ll be looking for some other sucker to tutor those little monkeys. I work in the North Kent area (principally in and around Gravesend and Medway) and specialise in maths and physics, but also run sessions on essay writing (which concentrate on improving grammar, punctuation and structure). Most of my students are studying A-level or IB, but I also run GCSE and 11+ sessions. Although offering individual tuition from time to time, I mainly run small groups, classes and crammers, which provide a better education at far lower cost.
In addition to offering personal tuition, I also produce free video tutorials for those unable to afford help (or for whom a trip to the bucolic paradise of North Kent is sufficiently unfeasible or unpalatable). The library is currently small but will doubtless grow with my children (who are the reason I currently have so little time to make more – either videos and children). In terms of qualifications, I hung around Cambridge till they gave me a couple of degrees to go away, then repeated the trick at Oxford a few years later. I've therefore acquired a bachelors in physics, masters in history/philosophy and theology, and a doctorate in theology. Which displays either commendably diverse interests or an inability to stick at anything. My wife suggests the latter.

I have been a primary school teacher for 20 years and in that time have successfully led English and Mathematics in schools. I am currently a deputy headteacher, but also have an NPQH (headteacher qualification).
