My goal is to always ensure that my students are enjoying their lessons and what they are learning. Achieving this ensures that my students can gain confidence and independence, and thus they are able to learn independently. I also teach my students organisational and study skills that can help them achieve improved results and that can help them in their future educational journeys. I am experienced in teaching students of various levels and in various numbers. I have had experience teaching classes with 10+ students as well as teaching individual students in one-to-one sessions via online platforms or in-person. Through my patience and ability to break complicated problems into small understandable information, I can provide my students with easy solutions to the problems they are facing and struggling with. I also believe in the "practice makes perfect" approach and therefore I tend to challenge my students to ensure that they get "the best" results instead of only "good" results. I taught maths from GCSE to STEP at an academy in Essex from 2009 to 2017 and at another Essex academy from 2020 to 2024. In both academies I taught GCSE Mathematics A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics and STEP. About half of my students have been recommended to me. I have been a private tutor since September 1987. I do not cover D1 or D2 or Modelling With Algorithms at A level. I have a first class honours degree from Goldsmith College London where I won the Stanley Hails Memorial Prize.

My methodology is tailored to each student needs and the progress is monitored regularly. I am very confident with the methods I use as I tutor at different levels which means I can choose the right level based on student needs. I always follow a simple approach in teaching Maths I teach in a clear simple style and I make sure the student understands by testing.
I plan my lessons in advance based on student needs! I am flexible, I can do practice based on exam papers for higher levels or I can also do individual lesson plans for any topic on lower levels. I am confident with all levels.
For each lesson I send notes and I also provide workbooks and homework !

Now I prefer to focus on private tuition where my primary aim is teaching and enabling students to achieve. NHS Doctor with over 10 years of experience studying and completing exams and over 7 years teaching Maths, Biology and Chemistry for KS3, GCSE and A Level. My tuition approach is listed below.
Each lesson begins with a run-through of the topic and explanation of key concepts with opportunities for pupils to ask questions. Students are then provided with high yield exam questions and worksheets to complete. Questions are then marked together to highlight areas of strength and areas of improvement. An emphasis is always maintained on exam technique during each lesson. Assessments to determine student improvement are provided every 4-6 weeks.
All students are taught how to study effectively using two evidence-based study techniques:
1) Active Recall - Here students create useful revision questions to test their memory of certain topics
2) Spaced Repetition - Here students are taught how to strategically review topics regularly and boost their chances of remembering important exam content throughout the year and leading up to exams.
My classes are always tailored with a personalised programme for each and every student and remain friendly and engaging. All resources including specialised notes for each exam board, revision questions and exam question related to the tutees exam board are provided free of charge. Tuition goes beyond the `hour slot` as students are able to contact me via phone, email and tutor hunt messaging. I also remain engaged with the lesson and do not `clock-watch`.
