I am a teacher/ lecturer with over five years of experience teaching mathematics to HNC and BTEC students at both university and high school levels.
My methodology is tailored to each student needs and the progress is monitored regularly. I am very confident with the methods I use as I tutor at different levels which means I can choose the right level based on student needs. I always follow a simple approach in teaching Maths I teach in a clear simple style and I make sure the student understands by testing.
I plan my lessons in advance based on student needs! I am flexible, I can do practice based on exam papers for higher levels or I can also do individual lesson plans for any topic on lower levels. I am confident with all levels.
For each lesson I send notes and I also provide workbooks and homework !

I am a Year 12 student in Saint Olave's Grammar School for Boys who teaches maths for 11+/KS3 exams. I do online maths tutoring or tutoring within 5 miles radius of my home. I have experience tutoring 11+ candidates with their maths exams resulting in most passing their maths exams.
I remember vividly how it was going through all the preparation necessary for my 11+ exams and this effectively allows me to relate to the current candidates. I know the stress and even fear that might accompany getting ready for the exams as I have gone through it therefore I aim to help my students prepare effectively but most importantly in a way which will not pile on extra pressure.
My teaching techniques are letting my student answer the questions first try and then I go through the questions they felt they were not comfortable with, suggesting other methods they could try to answer the question but making sure they understand it as well. For the questions answered well I still suggest alternative methods so they can pick the method they feel most comfortable with. I have considerable experience being a tutor as I tutored last year's candidates for their 11+ exams in maths, resulting in a high pass rate. My lessons are 2 hours and for students doing 11+ or exams in KS3.
I have earned my Diploma in Primary Education at the St. Joseph’s Teachers’ College and I have currently completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education at The Mico University College which has trained me to be an efficient and effective teacher. While studying at The Mico University College I Advanced in English Language, as well as completing an action research paper on “How can a Phonemic Awareness Intervention Program Help Students who are Reading Below Their Grade Level?”

Education is the bedrock of any society. I believe teaching is the worthiest cause in the aspiration of making our societies and the world a better place.
I began teaching after my National Diploma from The Polytechnic Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria where I studied Electrical/electronic engineering. I spent two years teaching and by the end of this experience, I knew I wants to be a teacher. The usual challenges attributed to teaching such as lack of institutional support and the rising indifference toward education by students only excited me to seek solutions. I was sure this solution would only make me a better equipped teacher. My resourcefulness was brought to the fore as I often had to rely on ingenuity to provide teaching aids where none was available. I also learnt that the traditional linear method of teaching which rendered students’ passive recipients of knowledge relying solely on the teacher was not enough to sustain the students’ interest. I therefore made my classes fun, engaging and participatory. I found that students are often active and willing collaborators when given responsibilities and if they can relate well with the subject matter. They also gained confidence and were less likely to be unruly.
The curriculum is designed to guide teaching and learning outcomes. A teacher must have impeccable mastery of the curriculum content in order to properly instruct the students. The latter, too having no doubts in the teacher’s abilities would willingly lend their support. In light of this, I enrolled at the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, Nigeria to study Physics. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in 2017, I went ahead to acquire a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the National Teachers Institute, Ibadan Centre and then teacher certification from the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). From the knowledge and experience gathered over the years, I consider myself competent in teaching physics and mathematics which I have done for about fifteen years now. Many of the students which I have taught are now graduates while some are doing well in various Nigeria Universities.
As an enthusiastic, self-motivated dependable and diligent person I believe in developing myself as an example of what I want my students to be in character and learning. A teacher role is multi-faceted. As a role-model, counselor and ad hoc parent to mention a few, his or her role includes guiding and protecting his or her wards. Societal ills, emotional, physical as well as economic challenges constantly tend to limit students’ response to the teachers efforts as an educator. I endeavor within the general context of the classroom and occasional opportunities one-on-one discourse to motivate and direct the students to make positive decisions. I understand that it is not mine to impose on students or to judge them. My role is to guide them along accepted norms and ethics.
I am flexible and can adapt to most changing situations. I know that each work place is dynamic possessing its own challenges and opportunities as well as limitations. I therefore quickly learn to cope and work within laid down rules and regulations.
Although I have little experience in teaching students with special needs or disabilities, I have the opinion, based on personal experience, that special needs students are not lacking in abilities only requiring specialized skills in teaching them.
