Growing up, I thought learning was difficult. As an adult, I’ve made it my mission to make concepts easy to understand. I’ve got vast experience teaching and learning.
I am currently studying biomedical sciences at the university of Salford and working towards a PHD in Cancer research and molecular biology. I can teach using google meet or zoom or Microsoft teams.
I am a well-organised teacher and I am passionate about my subject my goal is to help students improve their numeracy skills and achieve their full potential also, I enjoy having a positive impact on young people and changing their lives for the better.
My career has been as a learning and development specialist with 30 years in an airlines, and a rich background of 20 years as a private tutor, successfully coaching students up to GCSE level.
As a tutor, I have taught students from grade 6 to GCSE Level, and in my profession as an instructor conducted classroom training and hands-on workshop sessions for pilot, mechanic and communication trainees and technical apprentices aged 18 – 23 years. Experienced IT trainer in MS Windows, MS Office and other software.
Delivering engaging sessions with clear learning objectives that encouraged positive participation; motivating high school students and young adults succeed in education, and achieve self-independence. I am friendly, approachable and enjoy making learning meaningful for pupils. My lessons begin with starting activities to recap the previous learning, identify any misconceptions. Moving onto the main part of the lesson I plan activities promoting fluency in the skill then application to a real-life situation or worded exam-style question. Games and quizzes can be fun and useful in testing rapid recall.
I have been teaching for fifteen years and have taught learners of all abilities, backgrounds and socio-economic circumstances, planning for progression and offering timely feedback. I endeavour to make learning as enjoyable as possible and do my utmost to "make learning stick". I am compassionate and go the extra mile for learners.
