Hello, my name is Anna! I am a graduate from the University of Cambridge with an MSci in Natural Sciences (I specialised in Chemistry, and my masters was in Surface Science).
I am passionate about teaching science and maths, as from experience, I have found some explanations of concepts hard to grasp due to specific terminology and/or notations. However, I also believe that with the right explanation, anyone can understand scientific concepts, no matter how complex they first appear.
I am a flexible, student led tutor - I am happy to be approached with a specific topic for a one off session, or run more generic revision sessions to help you feel prepared for your assessments!
Lessons are typically 30 mins - 1 hour, but I am happy to tailor times to suit your schedule, timelines and learning style.
I have tutored science and maths for secondary school students since the age of 16, and for A level and GCSE from 19. I also have also taught Python as part of my job as a Data Scientist to employees across the business. I am happy to tutor anyone of any age, and am able to tutor:
- Chemistry up to university level (level 7)
- Phyiscs and maths up to A level (or equivalent level 3)
- Biology up to GSCE (or equivalent level 2)
- Python coding language - I specialise in Python for data analysis
Outside of science, I have worked as a Data Scientist and Project Manager. I also enjoy the theatre, and work as a freelance producer!

My Teaching Experience: I have been a secondary school mathematics teacher since I graduated from the university till now. I have taught KS3 to KS5 Mathematics. Through being a teacher, I gain invaluable delivery skills in teaching Mathematics and learn how to foster an atmosphere encouraging students to think and ask analytically. In the meanwhile, I have been a Mathematics tutor teaching students studying KS2 to KS5. Therefore, I have extensive experience in teaching mathematics and I am extremely familiarize with the Mathematics curriculums of all levels. I fully understand the common mistakes made by students in each topic and how to help my students master the mathematical skills. How do I teach? I am a very patient, organized and responsible tutor. I must plan my lessons with clear focuses and design engaging learning tasks that tap my students’ interests and experiences. I use mathematical games and a variety of examples to help my students understand different abstract mathematical concepts. All my students like the way I teach them very much and find it very useful to help them master mathematical skills in long term. Besides, I always refer to the examination papers of different schools and past papers of public examination to set a series of tailor-made exercises for my students to do in every tutorial lesson and after the lesson. All of my students find the exercises very useful and help consolidate their mathematical knowledge and concepts a lot. I must set the learning objectives and learning progress for each individual student. It helps my students know what they are going to learn clearly and push themselves aim higher. My exemplary teaching and assignment for learning practices have empowered all my students to learn and excel in the school assessment and public examinations.

I am an experienced, qualified teacher and tutor of 20+ years. I am educated to master's level and have expereince teaching and tutoring primary and preparatory school pupils (ages 6 - 13). I can provide home learning support in all primary subjects as well as specialist English tuition. I have had success preparing pupils for SATs and entrance examinations for independent schools, particularly in Cambridge, (United Kingdom), though I am also familiar with Cheltenham schools. I tailor sessions to the individual child's interests and needs, and work with pupils and parents to meet their desired goals, whether these be to build confidence, to develop creativty or to begin entrance exam preparation in earnest. I usually set a short piece of homework at the end of each session and review this with the pupil in the following session.
I am currently working only online via Skype and Zoom to deliver lessons but will also consider other mutually agreeable, secure platforms.
My basic rate is £30 per hour but this may be adjusted up to £35 or down to £25 depending upon the age and number of students, the work involved and any fees charged to me to facilitate tutoring.
Return to School or Transition Support - I can provide educational support for children returning to school in September after a significant time out of a formal educational environment. I can also support those children making important transitions between key stages or who are adjusting to the pace of work in a new school.
Manuscripts and dissertations (master's level) - I offer a proof-reading (typing, spelling and punctuation) and basic editing (grammar, consistency and clarity) service and quote for this on an individual basis.
SCIENCE COURSES - I'd like to recommend the highly successful and talented 'Andrew B'. Contact him via www.*** Please see my gallery for his up to date group and 1:1 course list.
Most of my work comes to me by word-of-mouth recommendation but in April 2020 I also created this page on TutorExtra and so currently have only one review.
I can be easily and quickly contacted via this site or by email: ***@*** Please simply send me a message if you'd like to find out more. I'm very happy to discuss an arrangement that will work well for you.

Whether you're completely lost in a topic or just need some help building confidence and improving your problem-solving skills, I’m here to help! I understand that every student has a unique learning style, strengths, and weaknesses, and I tailor my teaching approach accordingly. My methodology focuses on breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps and building upon your current understanding. Together, we can create an action plan to ensure that when exam time comes, you feel confident in your ability to apply your knowledge and tackle difficult problems. A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, but I can adjust the duration based on your needs. My lessons are suitable for students studying Maths and Physics at GCSE and A level. I also offer support with university applications, interview preparation, CV reviews, and personal statements to help you stand out in competitive applications.

I am currently pursuing an MEng in Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London, where I am on track to graduate with First-Class Honours. My academic journey has been marked by a deep commitment to excellence, as demonstrated by my 42-point achievement in the International Baccalaureate, where I earned top scores of 7 in Higher Level Chemistry, Higher Level Physics, and Global Politics. My strong foundation is further underscored by achieving grade 9s across all subjects in my International GCSEs, including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and both English Language and Literature.
At university, I have engaged in a variety of challenging projects that have allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios. For instance, I collaborated with a team to simulate chemical process engineering consultancy projects, including an economic and technical analysis of nuclear energy for urban power supply and the design of a heat exchanger system for an industrial plant. My laboratory research focused on temperature control in large-scale mixing units, exploring the enthalpy of dissolution in various solvents, and resulted in a comprehensive scientific report modeled after professional publications.
Beyond academics, I have developed strong leadership and communication skills through my roles as the Departmental Academic Representative for the Chemical Engineering Department and Vice President of the Indian Society at Imperial College. These roles involve representing the interests of over 700 students, coordinating with faculty, and organizing events for large groups, which have enhanced my ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively.
My professional experience includes a summer internship at Horizon Discovery, where I worked in a biotherapeutics lab, handling micro-scale samples, performing spectroscopic analyses, and gaining insight into the pharmaceutical industry's stringent quality standards. This experience, combined with my strong academic background, equips me with the ability to support students in understanding and mastering complex topics.
I am passionate about education and committed to helping students achieve their full potential by leveraging my in-depth knowledge, analytical skills, and practical experience.

I am an experienced Maths teacher who teaches in an outstanding secondary school from ages 11 - 18 years old. I have been tutoring students for 3 years and they have achieved at least one grade higher GCSE grade with my help. I can provide references from the parents of those students upon www.*** prefer in-person tutoring because the student can have a much focused attention to the explanation and also some part of the curriculum needs to be practised in person (ie. constructions). If you are interested, please send me a message or an email or give me a call.

My name is Lydia J. ( also known as " The Maths Specialist"). I am a creative, outgoing and experienced tutor with a contagious passion for maths whose mission is to infect every student I meet with the love for maths.
I have been teaching maths since I was 17 and I am 44 years old now. It's been 27 years since I first started teaching maths. If you or your child struggles with maths and you want results then you have come to the right person.
The study of mathematics, like the Nile, begins in minuteness but ends in magnificence - Charles Caleb Cotton.
These days, anyone who hears me say, "I love maths" thinks I've always loved maths but that's far from the truth. I struggled with maths and even failed my GCE in maths ( an equivalent of GCSE).
So many teachers tried teaching me but I just could not grasp the concepts because they used the same methods I struggled with at school and never worked on finding out what the cracks were in my knowledge. A house built on a faulty foundation cannot stand the test of time.
One day I met the greatest teacher in the world, in my opinion, because not only was he able to teach me maths but he made me love maths. The quote above pretty much sums up how he taught me. He started from the basics, no assumptions made and he used all sorts of new methods to teach me. He showed me that there were so many ways to learn any topic.
I retook my GCE in maths and got the highest grade possible, won an award in maths, studied engineering, taught other students that were tagged "hopeless in maths" and got my daughter ready for her GCSE in maths at a very young age.
It doesn't matter how 'bad' any one is at maths, if they have a desire to learn and time, I can teach them. I am not just any other maths tutor. I am one that produces results.
