ABOUT BETWEEN THE RIVERS
B. is a language, cultural and social initiative based in Cambridge (UK). The centre offers language services (language courses, translation, interpreting) between Italian, British English and Chinese. It also organises activities aimed at fostering intercultural understanding between speakers who live across these languages.
ABOUT ME - I am a linguist by passion, training and trade, and have been working as a teacher, translator and interpreter with Italian, English and Mandarin Chinese for the past 25 years. - My life experience across Italy, Nigeria, China and the UK has made me a cosmopolitan individual with a strong passion for intercultural understanding. - I am also a lover of literature and a poet writing in all my three languages, with work published in literary blogs and magazines in Italy, Switzerland, the UK and the US.
MY LANGUAGE TEACHING EXPERIENCE I have spent the past 25 years teaching: - Italian language and culture - English and Mandarin Chinese - Italian literature within the IB Diploma Programme
For three years, I was a full member of ANITI, the Italian National Association of Translators and Interpreters.
MY ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS - 2011, MA in Gender Studies, SOAS, University of London - 2007, CEDILS (Italian equivalent of CELTA), University of Venice (Italy) - 2002, BA + MA integrated degree in Translation and Conference interpreting with Italian, English and Mandarin Chinese, University of Trieste (Italy)

I am committed to sharing outstanding teaching and learning practices on a national scale. I successfully established Mandarin as a new subject and have furthermore introduced it at seven local primary and secondary schools.
I possess over ten years of experience in teaching and private tutoring. I love teaching Mandarin. I used to teach Chinese at Chinese school in Glasgow and I have been home teaching my husband for years (proper class with PPT). Now I am teaching some university students online. I know the common problems my students have, I've also noticed each student always has their own struggling point, so I am familiar with the solutions for different questions. All my students agree that I am very good at explaining questions.
