Having gradauted from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with a frist class honours in 2023, I am fortunate to freelance across Scotland as drummer/percussionist. I am fortunate to have played with orchestras, chamber ensembles, musical theatre productions and weddings/functions along with private teaching. Recent work includes shows with Imagine Theatre, The Scottish Concert Orchestra and Limelight Productions.
I am a professional Alto Saxophonist who has been playing for 17 years. I have many years experience playing solo at functions/events such as weddings and parties, aswel as in Big Bands such as Salford University big band, Orchestras, Wind bands and contemporary music bands. I have performed at venues that include Birmingham Conservatoire and Bridgewater Hall. I have trained in Jazz improvisation and enjoy playing all genres of music.
My teaching style is very much student led and informal, I use simultaneous learning style and am creative, dynamic and positive. Music is my passion and I students to get the most out of lessons and enjoying learning! I am enthusiastic and very knowledgeable.

I am an instrumental woodwind teacher and a classroom teacher in a school teaching up to and including GCSE - current board we use is Eduqas. I teach flute, clarinet, sax and recorders all to high ABRSM levels - no student has ever failed under my tuition. I teach beginners up to diploma level.
Many of my students have enjoyed successes at various music festival competitions, have played for royalty and have even had the pleasure of performing at the Royal Albert Hall.

I am a qualified teacher and have worked in various schools across the East Midlands both as a teacher and a Music Therapist. I work as an arranger for a number of acapella groups both in the folk and gospel industry. I perform regularly both in churches and small venues as a multi-instrumentalist, conductor and singer.

I regularly teach the compositional element of ABRSM exams to grade 8, where I have a 100% pass rate and have over 25 years experience in special and state schools. Tutoring Approach:
I am passionate about music and endeavour to pass this on to my students. I enjoy and can play a wide variety of music from classical, pop, jazz and gospel. Each of my students is precious and I strive to help them achieve their potential at what ever level.
I teach to all ages, up to Grade 8 on the Drums, Grade 4 on the Guitar and on the Piano I will teach to a high standard, but not through the grading system as I only teach basic level sight reading for Piano.
I have taught many students over the years at varying ages and skill levels, and all have come out more passionate and more improved at there instrument.

In my lessons I will take the students up through the Grades (ONLY for Drums and Guitar), via Rockschool, teaching them everything they need from technique, learning how to sight read, developing improvisation skills, playing in many different genres of music, and how to play by ear. I will also cover how to complement the music you are playing to and how to serve the music. As well as developing musicianship skills and how to have the right attitude in the music business.
- on the Piano I will teach to a high standard, going through everything listed above, as well as scales, arpeggios, inversions, learning classical and contemporary pieces, and basic level sight reading, but NOT grades unfortunately.
