Science Clinic Private Tutors was founded in 2010. Our vision was to help struggling children understand the concepts of the major subjects which are sought after by many colleges & universities. Our tutoring was mainly in the main subjects (Maths, all 3 Sciences & English Language) to exam students only. Because of the huge demand of tutoring in all year groups, we now teach students across the board from Primary (KS1 & KS2) through to GCSE, A-level and University. We were luck to have had colleagues we share the same vision with join us. Now we can teach all subjects from Primary through to GCSE, College /A-levels and Science & Maths at University level. All our teachers / tutors are graduates and qualified teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) who understand the National Curriculum. Some of them are examiners at GCSE and A-level, which means they know the exam techniques students need to answer the exam questions properly and get better grades. Within the team, we have professionals with very high qualifications ie Masters Degrees (MSc / MA) and PhDs in various subjects. We can, therefore, be confident to say we are professionals who are dedicated to what we do with proven records in the UK’s most entrance and national exams. We are a tutoring organisation that is defined by its professionalism. Our aim is to provide a personal service. This makes us very different from most tutoring companies that just offer a platform for tutors and students to meet. We speak to clients so that we can match them with the most appropriate tutor for their needs. When this happens, the results can be remarkable & confidence grows. We personally know all our tutors and all have had DBS checks and their qualifications checked before we take them on. We are also a member of The Tutors’ Association (TTA) which was formed in 2013 to provide standards to the tutoring industry.

Hello, I'm Robert S. - Lead tutor at PGT. I am a highly experienced Geography teacher and tutor with over 15 years of teaching. I have marked for UK exam boards and worked in prestigious private schools in the London area. I read Geography at Loughborough University and completed my PGCE at the University of Bath, further enhancing my teaching skills. My approach is centered around the students, adapting to their individual learning styles. My aim is to ignite curiosity and critical thinking while equipping them with the tools for exam success. Over the years, I have achieved an excellent track record of maximizing exam performance through one-to-one sessions that focus on exam techniques. I am flexible to conduct in-person sessions within the local area, but I have also found that online sessions provide students with the added benefit of space and time to consider their answers and questions in a more relaxed manner. Embracing technology allows us to create a comfortable and effective learning environment

My Psychology degree and 9 years of experience working with children with Neuro-divergence and additional educational needs prior to teaching have significantly shaped my approach to teaching.
I prioritise relationship building and trust with students and their caregivers.
I am patient, kind, and incredibly encouraging but have high expectations. I work with students for them to also gain high expectations in themselves. This may happen in the first few sessions or may take a longer period of time depending on the student.
I help students gain high expectations for themselves by initially giving tasks where they are guaranteed success, then celebrating and reflecting on this success and how they were able to use the skills taught and their effort to complete the task. This builds a persons confidence and significantly increases the likelihood of attempting more difficult tasks. This is heavily proven by research (and seen in my classroom daily) known as the “theory of self efficacy” and the “theory of planned behaviour”.
If a person does not believe a task is within their capability, they are incredibly unlikely to even attempt it (No matter how much we believe they can do it).
It is my job to SHOW students they can do it by designing tasks and lessons in a way that they feel challenged finish with pride in their achievements.
When teaching new skills I will show them first, then we will complete a task together, then they will apply the skills independently. I will be constantly assessing as they work independently and provide support where necessary. The ultimate goal is to phase back my support until they are using the taught skills correctly, consistently, confidently and independently.
Lessons will vary depending on students needs. If caregivers want to spend a percentage of the lesson to discuss, that will be agreed upon. If there are specific targets you want me to cover then we can dedicate time for you to tell me these expectations. If you would prefer me to assess your student and gage where the gaps are and plan accordingly, that is also ok.
I would suggest an initial session to meet, and discuss goals.
Some classes you may benefit from:
-SATs Prep
-Phonics
-Reading (comprehension, vocabulary, inferencing, predictions, explaining, retrieval, sequencing, summarising, making links, authors intent)
-Spelling
-Grammar (or Spelling and grammar combined)
-Maths
-Maths (arithmetic)
-Maths (Reasoning and Problem solving)
-Target specific - has your teacher said there are targets you need to work on in various subjects?
-Science
-History
-Geography
-Psychology (GCSE, A Level)
Is your child in secondary school but needs support in the foundation subjects such as reading, writing or maths?
Reading and writing is an essential skills in secondary school for every subject. I can support your child to close the gap so they can access all subjects with their peers. Having worked in secondary schools before, I have seen how much students are required to read and write in all lessons, but there will not be opportunities to learn these fundamental skills at school.
I welcome students of all ages (including adults) from all backgrounds and of all abilities.
I look forward to meeting you soon and celebrating the amazing progress ahead!

As a Geography teacher for the last fourteen years, I've been fortunate to have opportunities to deliver Edexcel, OCR and AQA specifications, while also acting as an external examiner for AQA GCSE and Key Stage 4 coordinator. This is while working to raise attainment and engagement in challenging schools in Newham and Tower Hamlets. Working with my department, attendance to GCSE and A-Level intervention (including breakfast sessions and Saturday mornings) has increased.
Working with families, holding regular meetings with 'at-risk' low attaining pupils, I was able to achieve buy-in from Geography GCSE students, with incentives including treats and reward trips.
I have taught A-Level Geography since 2017, developing challenging content to introduce concepts and case studies to widen the worldview of learners in our somewhat abstract subject. I am currently redeveloping the Globalisation and Migration units to include case studies of Jamaica's SAPs and the migration profile of the United Kingdom post-Brexit.
With my team, I am redeveloping lessons to incorporate more GIS, successfully employing it in Edexcel B Unit 4 when analysing change on the Holderness coast.
I provide timely feedback and assessment, requiring students to respond to all feedback given; this has been crucial in my team's drive to boost use of more geographical vocabulary, analytical skills and self-reflection. A huge focus in my practice now is improving the independence of learners in extended writing answers, such as 8 mark questions in Edexcel B and the synoptic approach to paper 3.
I have implemented findings from in-house and exam board CPD to update my practice and to share with my department, particularly as the teacher responsible for the GCSE course at my current school. Ideally, after analysing performance across all papers in the last summer exam series I would like to complete further CPD this year about the areas of weakness to further improve how I deliver lessons and additional support, as well and helping learners to be increasingly independent.
Fieldwork is an area I thoroughly enjoy, particularly urban and coastal fieldwork. I continue to design and deliver fieldwork for our GCSE and A-level students, incorporating guidance from the exam board about best practice, new ideas and subject updates each year.
I have completed safeguarding training in line with the school's policies and the government's 'Keeping Children Safe in Education' directive for 2024.
I look forward to helping young people in London become curious, broad-minded and keen geographers.

I have taught History and Geography for over three years across schools in England. I'm currently Head of Year at an Outstanding School in London and have experience as Head of History in a previous school. I have a vast knowledge of the GCSE syllabus and a strong record of supporting students to make rapid progress in History and Geography.
Having achieved a First Class Degree in History from the Queen's University Belfast, I have mastered skills in History to a high level, and hope to pass these on to pass this on to the pupils that I tutor.
All my tuition is based on highly research-led practice, and a cirriculum that has been rigourously tested to ensure teaching is of the highest standard and assessment is accurate.

Current Head of Geography, teaching from KS3 - KS5. Specialise in AQA specification, but also have experience with Ed-Excel.
Calm and patient and enjoy working with individuals keen to improve, with some motivation to suceed. I like to focus especially on looking at exam technique and work with students to develop and model good practice and deepen subject knoweledge.
A - level is much current specialism and teach across both the human and phyiscal sides of the course and as a result I can help them think 'synoptically' in their responses.

I am a qualified teacher with QTS and long term experience in teaching Maths and geography KS 2-4. I am currently working as a Maths intervention teacher while also tutoring GCSE Geography privately, improving grades and pupil confidence. I am conversant with on-going changes in both the curriculums, exam requirements, mark schemes and the topics of study for foundation to higher level. I explain Maths in step by step detail, in order to remove learning gaps that hinder progress while delivering planned lessons based on continous assessment and pupil strength 'n weaknesses, for maximum betterment.
I teach Geography explaining not only the knowlege content but also subject specific vocabulary, answering strategies and exam techniques, using exam questions from past papers.
I am literate in Urdu and have prepared pupils for GCSE exams, in line with exam requirements, using prescribed vocabulary lists as well as past exam papers. I have taught Urdu language speaking skills to adults and children and have a collection of appropriate picture resources to help.
I am patient, dedicated and punctual in my commitments.

As someone with experience in tutoring and a skill for illustrating and presenting complex ideas in accessible and easy formats, I can ensure that anybody can succeed at the subjects they have chosen to study, regardless of their original level. I personally had to self study a lot of material for IGCSEs and AS Levels, but still managed to not only acquire a full spread of top grades in both, but attain marks nearing 100% in multiple subjects. I believe the key to this is understanding a subject to its core, rather than just learning things at a surface level. Not only does this lead to better exam perfomance, but it also means that what is learnt will be retained for longer. The ability to deep dive into subjects is a highly valuable skill that I will ensure all my students perfect.

I am a current Student at QMUL studying economics, with a particular interest in macroeconomics and international development. After completing A Levels I believed the best choice was to attend university in London. I am an extremely hardworking individual who seeks to achieve the best in every task. My strengths include strong time-management, leadership and management, and strong communication skills. These characteristics are what I feel will make me an extremely proficient tutor. In addition, having been through state education for the past 13 years and achieving the top grades in all categories I understand how the educational system works and techniques which provide the best outcomes for GCSE and A level students. I am also a part-time chef which has meant I have had engagement with parents and guardians which has boosted my ability to understand what is required not only from the student but how the guardian would like me progress with the tutoring progress.
