Hi all,
My name is Sam W. and I am a mathematics teacher from Nottingham, UK.
I have been tutoring online part-time and have now moved to full-time tutoring through zoom platforms, 5 days a week. I enjoy working with students (children/adults) that have a passion for mathematics or who struggle with the basics.
I have experience working in both primary and secondary mainstream settings, whilst currently working part time also in an alternative provision for students with special needs. I deliver both 30 minute & 50 minute lessons, reaching students across the UK online
I would be more then happy to offer a free trial session, so that I can get to know the student and find out exactly what it is they enjoy/struggle with.

I am an award-winning and highly experienced "super" tutor and academic coach with over 15 years of tutoring, teaching and coaching experience, during which period I have made multiple students become university toppers and world prize winners. As for my own qualifications, I have a First Class Honours degree in Aerospace Engineering and a Doctorate in Engineering (Expertise: High-fidelity numerical simulations). As an undergraduate student at university, I was ranked number 1 with a cumulative average of 84%, for which I was honoured as the `Top Engineering Graduate`. I passed my A-levels (examining board: Edexcel) with straight A grades (note: there were no A* grades at the time), and my Mathematics mark in particular was ranked among the top in the world. Currently, I have many students at various UK institutions and institutions overseas, ranging from Cambridge University and Imperial College (London) to IE School of Architecture (Madrid). These students have been very happy to work with me because they are being prepared to reach their highest potential, and this is somewhat evident from the fact that they typically acquire the highest marks in their class / cohort. Hello, I'm Vincent N., a passionate mathematician and educator with a diverse background in Actuarial Science and Music. I hold a Master's degree (MSc) in Actuarial Science from Heriot-Watt University and a Bachelor's degree (BSc Hons) in Mathematics with Actuarial Science from the University of Southampton. During my time at Southampton, I initially pursued a Master's in Music (MMus), but unfortunately, due to an injury, I had to transfer to a Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Music.
After completing my undergraduate studies, I furthered my academic journey at Cardiff University, where I earned a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Mathematics. My research focused on "The Risk Models with Non-Local Poisson Processes," and I was fortunate to have Prof. Nikolai Leonenko as my supervisor. This research culminated in a published paper titled "Risk process with mixture of tempered stable inverse subordinators: Analysis and synthesis" in the journal Random Operators and Stochastic Equations.

In my lessons I favour a conversational approach. This allows me to engage the student while showing me their thinking. From here I can gently disentangle any confusion leading to a deeper understanding of the topic.
Lesosns themselves are tailored to the student and can include teaching of new content, revision of previous content or practicing questions together to help the student achieve mastery. I am flexible and happy to know the topic in advance or for the student to turn up on the day and let me know what they would like to practice. This can include any questions that came up over the week in other lessons of the subject at school, for instance.
I do have split pricing, so I charge £50 per hour during the week, and £55 per hour at the weekend.

I graduated from the University of Surrey in July 2023 with a 2:1 degree in BSc Business Economics. For my first two years, I studies BSc Mathematics and Economics but for my final year, I decided to change my degree to Business Economics since I had more of a passion for Business. I studied Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Economics for my A-Levels and scored ABB respectfully. I scored a grade 9 in GCSE Mathematics (A*) , grade 7 (A) in GCSE English Literature and Language and an A* in GCSE Further Mathematics, scoring 4A*s , 6As and 1B. Mathematics has always been my favourite subject and I also very much enjoy teaching it to other people. I also have a musical background, particularly within playing the piano and keyboard. I am a Grade 8 pianist and I am very close to completion. I am looking to tutor piano or keyboard for people who want to play for pleasure and I am not looking to teach grades or prepare anyone for examinations. My specialty revolves around playing Bollywood and English piano covers.
