I am a well qualified and experienced teacher of Modern Foreign & Classical Languages with over 30 years experience teaching in local State and Independent Schools and in adult and further education colleges. I have taught French, German, Spanish, Italian, Classics and Latin from Key Stage 3 through to A- Level and am a GCSE examiner for the Pearson Edexcel exam board. I am a Member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists.
In my lessons, my goal is to teach you, with fun, humour and encouragement, how to use language confidently in listening, speaking, reading and writing and of course backing this up with a very sound knowledge of those building blocks called grammar. In Latin, the grammar based language study is backed up with a fun and detailed look at the historical period and the set texts. We all have differing learning needs and goals which are worked out well in advance of the first lesson so that the approach is tailor made for you so that you ultimately find the learning experience a rewarding and enjoyable one. When teaching , I use my experience of being an examiner to show you what the exam paper is really asking for and how you can ensure you get the marks and ,quite easily, exceed target. Just ask any of my former pupils! I am very friendly, patient and approachable, always encouraging with a strong belief that bit by bit you will succeed in whichever goal you have made for yourself?

First of all, I am a passionate tutor d I enjoy passing my knowledge to others. I find it very rewarding when students tell me enthusiastically about their good results at exams.
Secondly, through my long medical studies and via my job as GP, I have become very patient and a good listener. This helps me to adapt to any student`s background.
Thirdly, being the mother of three teenagers has taught me how to deal with the variable commitments at this age.
I believe firmly that tutoring should be tailored to match each student needs.
Moreover, I take into account that tutoring sessions are extra works added to the student’s busy day at school or at the workplace. Consequently, I endeavour to make my lessons diverse and lively, to avoid students being bored or tired and at risk of giving up after the first sessions.
I make the session as interactive as possible to retain the student’s attention. The student reads the lesson and we point out together the main ideas. After that, he /she will write summary notes under my supervision. Then comes some sample exam questions. Finally, I end the session by a quiz about the topic that we have studied previously.However,when the exams are getting closer,we work on past papers .
As the holder of a Baccalaureate in Sciences and a Doctorate in Medicine, I am conversant in maths physics and chemistry up to GCSE / A level. In addition, Biology is amongst the basic topics in medical studies therefore, this subject is one of my strongest areas of expertise.
With regard to French, although I am not a French native, I am a fluent speaker as all my studies have been carried out in French, from primary school through to university. Consequently, I master French at all levels: from casual conversation to academic reports. Additionally, through my French husband and his family, I have acquired a strong familiarity with the French culture, history and customs.
I am conversant with the curriculum, through my involvement with my sons’ studies and previous tutoring. I am familiar with the different exam boards and their distinctions. I regularly check on the Internet for the latest updates on the syllabus according to each board.

I'm a student who's very passionate about teaching French to younger ones! I would love to give them a taste of what is like to know a second language so they can use it in the future!
I am an experienced secondary school teacher specialising in French and Spanish. Having recently had my own children I am now working part time in school and tutoring to compliment family time.
My own genuine passion for learning languages and exploring intercultural dialogue motivated me to become a teacher so I could share my passion and experiences with my students.
I am a very enthusiastic person and like to put all my energy into what I do, making my lessons fun and enjoyable for all students. At the same time, I am passionate about grammar and love teaching in a way my students can deduct the rules from the context of the language we discuss in lesson, but also become interested in practising grammar on their own.
A characteristic of my teaching is to be able to plan very efficient lessons where a skill or linguistic content is presented, developed and practised through a progressive and scaffolded structure that supports all learners. I encourage students to have a personalised approach to their learning and I am always available to help them find their own way of studying and provide tips for remaining motivated in their learning.
During my undergraduate study of Arabic, I spent almost two years in Paris. Upon completing my masters in Arabic, I decided to consolidate my knowledge of French sitting all the language and literature exams of the Bachelor Degree as a private student. I then continued my professional development by obtaining the DALF Certificate, level C1 of the CEFRL (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
My PGCE course at the University of Southampton was focussed on teaching French, Italian and German.
My native language is Italian and I hold a qualification for teaching Italian to foreigners (CEDILS). I am also fluent in French, thanks to my studies abroad and relative qualifications (see above).
I am currently teaching French and Italian in a secondary school in Southampton and teaching adults at Language Class, as well as privately.

If you think you can have good marks in mathematics only by studying the theory, you are wrong. The theory is important, I agree, but most of your time should be spend on exercises, you need to practice, again and again. I always use this principle in my life (Pareto principle) because I need to be super efficient and this is the best way to be. You can guess now, we will study mathematics together and you will also have some bonus tips about studies, because every module is different and you don't study mathematics like you study philosophy. As I said before, I am here to help you, and I am not worried for you; like every student I had, you will do it !

I am a qualified teacher. I have a range of experiences in school such as state junior and infant schools, private infant and junior schools, special educational needs schools, senior schools, forest schools and Montessori schools. I have 4 years experience in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) as an LSA where I was also fortunate to cover classes across Key Stage 1 and sometimes Key Stage 2. I completed teaching placements in year R, 2 and 4 on my teaching placements whilst doing my degree and I am currently a year 1 teacher. I have an in depth understanding of how to support my pupils on a hollistic level to their needs and interests.
