I lived and practiced French not only in Quebec Canada for over 20 years but I also lived in Paris for a year and perfected my French spoken and written language, working and studying in Paris France.
I have studied French in secondary school, college and univeristy. I have also lived in France for a year to develop my speaking skills. I have experience working in different education settings, working with different age groups of pupils and tutoring different subjects. I have a few years of experience with work in the education sector and would love to share my knowledge while helping others.
Targeted for GCSE French students. My lessons tailor to individual learning needs of my students within the 4 language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Attention will also be given to pronunciation, an aspect that school children need much chance to work on. Objectives are to strengthen their base while filling in gaps in their knowledge. Lessons will be injected with extra material on language knowledge and interest facts on French cultural to liven the study.
I worked in schools for more than 20 years. Apart from being a subject teacher I also run an in-school language centre. Finding out students' ability and catering to their learning needs is my strength. I love to see them overcoming obstacles and excel in their study. It is part of the things that sustains my passion in teaching.

With over a decade working in education and private tuition, I have extensive experience in preparing students for National exams. Academically, I focus on English Language and Literature, French and Spanish. I also have a wealth of experience in successfully preparing students for the Foundation Tier Maths exam.
At GCSE and IGCSE level I have experience teaching all of the major exam boards including AQA, Pearson Edexcel, WJEC, CIE and OCR. There isn't a great deal of variation between the different boards in terms of content as GCSE level is largely standardised. Nevertheless it does help to be familiar with the variation in the emphasis of a particular syllabus and the format of the exam paper.
I hold a BA and MA in Modern Languages from the University of Oxford. I found the tutorial experience offered at Oxord University to be a revelatory way of learning and so when beginning my career in education, from an early stage, this became the route I decided to pursue.
In my teaching and tuition career I have work with many of the most reputable tuition agencies in the UK and overseas, specifically the Profs (UK), Modelex (Monaco) and Living Learning English (UK). All three are industry-leading, award-winning agencies with rigorous selection criteria for their academic tutors and the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. In addition to working with these agencies, as an individual tutor I'm a full-member of the National Tutors' Association, the national body upholding standards of professionalism and ethics within the UK Tuition industry.

Since studying French with English Literature at The University of Surrey, I have been helping my students learn both French and English via Zoom. I am proud to say that they have been scoring highly in both written and oral tests.
After working for language schools in Rennes such as Institut-Mondia-Langues and Les Petits Bilingues, I have begun teaching group classes of both primary and secondary-aged students in addition to one-to-one tutorials. Please note that the maximum number of students per class is 8 only, ensuring that the children benefit from teacher-student interactions.
Throughout the pandemic, I have helped my students to grow in confidence as their levels of French and English improve, engaging with both languages and developing comprehensive written and communication skills.

My tutorials are well prepared, structured, and adapted to your child/ren’s learning style/s. The first Zoom call is an opportunity to discuss their learning objectives; these might be goals such as developing their spoken language skills in French/English, or something more specific such as providing additional support for students with dyslexia.
Whatever your child’s learning needs may be, they will be given a structured learning plan targeting the aspects that they would like to work on (speaking, listening, writing, vocabulary, grammar etc).
In my classes, students benefit from language acquisition as well as learning, which is essentially the process of identifying sounds > associating those sounds with meaning > imitating the sounds to convey meaning.
This process takes practice, so I focus on overcoming obstacles that might inhibit fluency in speech or coherency in writing. For example, many of my students struggle with spoken expression at first due to a lack of confidence. To help with this, I create an interactive learning space where students feel comfortable making mistakes, empowering them to make progress.
Homework and in-class activities are used to target the areas where your child/ren may face difficulties, which we then work through together in class.
