With over 30 years of classroom, strategic, managerial, examination and assessment experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to tutoring your child/you. Tutoring is all about focusing the student on exactly what the question/task demands and demystifying the process, opening up possibilities and developing intellectual curiosity.
Before we start the tutoring, I carry out an audit of what knowledge and understanding of content there is, plus learning about the obstacles you face, what perceptions hold you back and generally finding out what kind of learner you are.
I will listen really carefully to what you need and will offer a plan to help you progress and move forward. Similarly, if I can't help, I will inform you of this too. It's really important that we get on.
Every student/learner is different; every backstory is unique. Many students have barriers; sometimes reassurance and pointing in the right direction will suffice.
Some years ago, I tutored a student on a Saturday morning. He was a bright and a very able science learner (straight As at GCSE) yet could not handle English or Literature and this was clearly holding him back (both his own self-esteem and his grades). It took a few weeks to instill a new way of apporaching the texts/writing, but once we applied a 'scientific approach' to analysis, it completely revolutinised his way of working. (He moved from a D to an A in four months of being with me, by the way!)
That was not a one-off. My recent tutoring has enabled me to accelerate learners way beyond what they thought they were capable of. Tutees are at the centre of the experince and it is all focused on them. I have an excellent interpersonal style, which is firm and fair, with a strong sense of agenda and coverage. We will go over things, revisiting to reinforce previous learning and to create the space where the tutee feels more independent and able to move forward without support. When a tutee says "I think I'm good from here!" I take that as a moment of great success!

In the industry I have produced over 100 events in theatre across London and the United Kingdom. In film I have produced ten short films garnering numerous awards at over 100 festivals. I have been producing & directing documentaries for national and international broadcasting. My first documentary – CHOR-POLICE – had several international partners like NHK (Japan), YLE(Finland), PBS(USA), RTSI(Switzerland) and premiered at IDFA(2008). I founded my production company – SÉANCE ENTERTAINMENT – in 2007, with a partner from my film institute. We have been striving to reach the world of films with a touch of our own, aiming for a synergy of passion, dedication and creative application. One of our first projects – FAIRYTALE DREAMS – was broadcast by NHK(Japan).
Recently, SÉANCE pioneered 8K documentary in India, in collaboration with NHK (Japan). We produced a series of 3 films (2019-2022) exploring the visual spectacles of different regions of India – Thar Desert of Rajasthan, Golden Fort of Jaisalmer and lush backwaters of Kerela. And another 3 film series on the cuisine of India (2022-23) – in Lucknow, Kashmir and Bengal.
I was a key member of the Documentary Resource Initiative – a not-for-profit organization promoting creative experimental independent actuality storytelling in India. DRI hosts an internationally acclaimed forum – DocedgeKolkata, Asian Forum for Documentary – where I worked as Head of Incubation & Training nurturing documentary projects through mentoring by international professionals. I was also Director of DRI’s travelling documentary workshop – Documentor, and mentored in the Let’sdoc Fellowship Programme for early-career filmmakers. Another major involvement was in initiating and organising the Dhaka DocLab – first of its kind international documentary forum in Bangladesh (started in 2017).

I'm Oli, a recent first-class graduate from the Liverpool Screen School - I'd love to be able to share my passion for the medium of cinema with all of those who are currently discovering it themselves! I have over a decade of experience in the subject, whether it be the academic aspects of Film Studies, or the creative, subjective aspect of practical filmmaking.
In terms of my academic experience, I've had academic essays about Film published through international publications, as well as having my personal essays supported passionately by my academic peers at university. I've worked alongside some of the best UK-based cinematic scholars to achieve my knowledge and approach to Film Studies, and I'd be thrilled to aid anyone who needs extra support regarding their studies - even if it's simply putting tough theoretical concepts into layman's terms.
Regarding my practical experience - it's vast! I've been an independent filmmaker for over half a decade, and my films have been recognised at festivals worldwide. I've also founded a North-Western film production company, Keystone Productions, which works with independent filmmakers and producers to ensure their visions are met.

My name is Ryan B., I am 26 years old and currently live in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Therefore, I would like to pursue a career within this field and to showcase my skills and knowledge surrounding cinema.
Experienced and award-winning screenwriter with over 30 produced feature screenplays. My films have been released all around the world including, Cinderella's Revenge which went to US cinemas in April of 2024. I've had films starring Lee Majors, Danny Trejo, Natasha Henstridge, Nick Moran, Vincent Regan and many more. ·Millichap Peace Fund: (1st October 2019) AV and filming for the live event; Zero Carbon Britain: A Climate Emergency Action Plan talk by Paul Allen – Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT). The work included the operation of two cameras, digital projections and setting up a video projection and audio feed from a camera into another seating room. The event was held at St Methodist Church in Hereford. I reported into the technical production manager and contributed to the event being a great success
·Hereford Musical Theatre Company: (18th June 2018-1st December 2019) Sound technician for live theatre productions. Working as stage crew for HMTC productions held at The Courtyard e. g. The Producers (4th-10th November 2018).

·Just Dust: (January 2019- Present) Sound design for Sound Art pieces which were for a MA Fine Art course and to exhibit in instillations. The name of the instillation is Voicing Herefordshire Soil in the Anthropocene, the first launch of the instillation was the 19th-26th July 2019 in Hereford City Centre. The instillation was very popular and successful. The work is set to be exhibited at Aberystwyth University.

The film Dénouement was screened at the BFI in London on 16th August 2017 and has also won awards at festivals. Hayley worked for Netflix, but I still worked with her on a freelance basis. Hayley has now been signed to a US directing / writing management team and is set to move to Los Angeles.

My career has involved the management of change within an increasingly technological driven media workplace. Our primary aim is to involve the 18-24 year old job seeking demographic, enabling their personal development, improving their employment/interpersonal skills and employment prospects. We hoped to achieve this in particular by increasing confidence and self esteem with removing barriers that would be traditionally by in place associated with the media industry. I enjoy prioritising my workload to consistently produce work of high accuracy with excellent attention to detail skills and a logical approach to problem solving. My professionalism and organised approach enable me to remain calm when working under pressure and I am enthusiastic and conscientious, with a natural ability to deal appropriately with people on all levels.
