I’m a committed and experienced Teaching Assistant currently working across both mainstream and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) schools in Derby. With a strong background in supporting children with a wide range of learning needs, I offer personalised online tutoring for primary-aged students (up to 12 years old) in English, maths, reading, and phonics.
My approach is patient, encouraging, and adaptable to suit each child’s individual pace and style of learning. I aim to create a positive and supportive learning environment that builds confidence and helps children thrive both academically and personally. Whether your child needs help catching up, preparing for SATs, or simply boosting their skills and self-esteem, I tailor each session to meet their unique needs.
With my hands-on experience in the classroom, I understand the curriculum and how to engage children in ways that make learning enjoyable and effective. I’m passionate about helping young learners reach their full potential and making sure they feel proud of every step forward.

Also if you would like to message me, please contact me on my landline or my mobile phone number. And as an University student I will have my schedule so I may not respond immediately if I am in a lecture for example, but I will be mostly available on weekends to tutor, although you could message me about anytime you would like some help and we can look at what our options are.
Thanks!

I quickly build rapport with pupils and work out gaps in their learning and the best possible way to teach them what they need to know. My pupils range from year 1 pupils who need support with letter formation and phonics to students preparing for their English GCSEs. I love what I do and this motivates my students. They also grow in terms of confidence and independence too!
I work with pupils of all abilities and needs but have particular experience with SEMH children, neurodiverse children and those with literacy difficulties such as dyslexia.

As a dedicated Year 1 teacher, I bring passion, care, and unwavering commitment to every aspect of my teaching. I believe that every child deserves a nurturing environment where they feel safe, valued, and encouraged to reach their full potential. I strive daily to create a classroom atmosphere that is not only engaging and purposeful but also warm and inclusive—where children are excited to learn and proud to grow.
My teaching philosophy centres around truly knowing and understanding each individual child. I take the time to build meaningful relationships, recognising their interests, learning styles, and emotional needs. Whether it’s providing a calm, reassuring presence or delivering a challenge that sparks curiosity, I adapt my lessons to ensure that every child is supported and stretched in the right way. I am passionate about designing learning experiences that are creative, relevant, and rooted in both curriculum expectations and the unique personalities of the children I teach.
My specialism in phonics allows me to give children a strong start in their literacy journey, but my work extends far beyond this. I regularly incorporate cross-curricular links and hands-on activities that bring learning to life, helping children make connections and retain knowledge. I monitor progress closely, using both formal assessments and daily observations, to ensure my pupils are continually moving forward in their development.
While my current role is in Year 1, I also have valuable experience working with children across Key Stage 2. This broader perspective has deepened my understanding of how learning evolves over time and enables me to tailor my teaching with future progression in mind. It allows me to support not just where children are now, but where they’re heading.
At the heart of my teaching is a genuine love for helping children succeed—not just academically, but emotionally and socially too. I care deeply about the children I teach, and I never stop striving to give them the very best start. Every lesson, every interaction, and every day is an opportunity to make a positive impact, and I am proud to be a part of each child’s journey.

I am a qualified Nottingham based primary teacher and SENCO who has children who are being home educated and am currently supporting children being home educated in Nottingham and all around the country.
I now am using my experience to support children who would like to make accelerated progress in the comfort of their own home and through attending weekly sessions.
Through My Own Tutor Online Programme, I offer a 24/7 Online Home Study Programme for only £10 a week which includes ALL subjects!! It Covers all key stages and subjects from year R/1 to 11 up to GCSE and follows the national curriculum. Again this can be supplemented by weekly support in our tuition centre.
Concentrating on Maths and English, between 5 and 20 tasks are set each week to plug gaps in learning and offer further challenge to those students who require it. To further support this students can access a freephone teacher helpline to take the pressure away from parents and carers.
As mentioned we follow the national curriculum, do not come with the costs of other tuition centres in around West Bridgford and also have the advantage of being available 24/7.
I would love to show the system and happy to pop to see you and talk through over the phone. Once you see it you will understand the impact that it has on children whatever their ability level.
Please message for more details and I’ll be happy to arrange a time with you that suits.
