I have earned my Diploma in Primary Education at the St. Joseph’s Teachers’ College and I have currently completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education at The Mico University College which has trained me to be an efficient and effective teacher. While studying at The Mico University College I Advanced in English Language, as well as completing an action research paper on “How can a Phonemic Awareness Intervention Program Help Students who are Reading Below Their Grade Level?”
I have also completed a course in special education which has equipped me with a reserve of knowledge that is pivotal to improve the holistic development of each learner. I am readily aware of the procedures and guidelines that govern students with learning difficulties and how to tailor these policies to create a conducive learning environment. Also, I possess the required skills to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to assess each learner and create the relevant Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).
I enjoy creating multi-sensory lessons with differentiated instructions and activities that cater to auditory, visual, tactile, and kinesthetic learners. As an advocate of student-centered learning and technology integration, I am optimistic that learners will discover their real fortes and capabilities as they become engaged in their learning to discover and create new knowledge. This approach will motivate students to become accountable, independent learners, critical thinkers, and collaborators.

I am a qualified primary school teacher with over 16 years of experience in education and over six years experience Tutoring. I offer bespoke sessions that are tailored to meet the individuals needs. I have lots of experience working with children with SEND and have a particular passion for early years and inclusion.
I plan, prepare and deliver sessions that are fun and engaging in order to support the development of all areas learning within the primary curriculum. For younger children and those with SEND I often find that their focus is better if a session incorporates some physical activity and frequently build learning through games in for these children.
My teaching career started in Moscow, where I worked for 8 years with adults and kids of all levels. My experience in Russia gave me the opportunity to study a foreign language, so I have a deep understanding of the frustrations and difficulties of language acquisition. I still attend online Russian classes, so I know exactly how it feels to be an online language learner. In 2011, I returned to the UK and started working freelance as an online English tutor. I found students by making videos on YouTube, and anyone who is interested in my teaching methodology should watch some of my lessons. I now have more than 500 English lessons on my YouTube channel.
For the last 4 years, I have been teaching English grammar to hundreds of UK English teachers as part of a Skills and Knowledge Enhancement course (SKE), funded by the Department for Education. In these classes, I give my colleagues tips on how to identify parts of speech, how to punctuate phrases and clauses, and how to recognize rhetorical devices. I have enjoyed this opportunity immensely, as it has provided me with a better insight into the nuances of English grammar.
I have also written two books over the last few years. One of these books is aimed at TEFL students, and deals with vocabulary (Visual Phrasal Verbs), while the other is written for natives, and deals with grammar and punctuation.
I teach English as a Foreign Language to all ages, levels, and nationalities. I am a big fan of the communicative approach, so my online classes are geared towards sharpening your speaking skills; in each lesson, I encourage students to retell an English book or film that they have recently seen, while I listen carefully and correct the mistakes. For many repeated mistakes, I simply make a gesture to let the student know about the error, and in this way, students get the chance to correct their own mistakes. During the classes, I make notes on any errors and new vocabulary, and I send a copy of this lesson feedback after the class. For homework, I set reading, writing, and grammar tasks. I also give links to YouTube videos from my channel, in which I explain the grammar or vocabulary topic in great detail so that students have access to my explanations, even when we are not physically 'in a lesson'. In addition to hundreds of online video lessons, I have a vocabulary book for learning phrasal verbs.
I also teach grammar to natives who would like to deepen their understanding of punctuation and rhetoric. I use my own course book, which focuses on how to identify different grammatical structures in typical GCSE texts (Animal Farm, Lord of the Flies, Frankenstein, 1984). This course has been extremely popular among the teachers that I work with. I am confident that I can teach the same course to anyone that wants to improve their use of English.
With over 15 years of dedicated experience as a Primary school teacher in Key Stage 1, I am passionate about creating a positive and nurturing learning environment that enables young learners to reach their full potential. My deep understanding of the KS1 curriculum, coupled with my commitment to individualized learning, allows me to support students in building strong foundational skills in reading, writing, and mathematics, as well as fostering curiosity in science and the arts.
