I am a professional teacher with over 15 years experience of teaching IT based subjects. I believe everyone has the right to succeed in their learning, and that with the right support and encouragement everyone can achieve their potential. During my teaching career I have taught in both primary and secondary schools, and many different subjects including Maths, Creative Media, Business Studies and Welsh Baccalaureate. However, my main passion/subjects are ICT/Computer Science and Digital Technology. I am qualified up to Degree level BA (Hons) IT Education with Qualified Teacher Status 2:1 and hold a HND in Computer Science. I'm currently a full time teacher in North Wales delivering WJEC GCSE & GCE courses with excellent student results. My tutoring sessions will start by assessing your skills and understanding your goals, We will then create a personalised learning plan that will address your areas for development. I use a range of teaching styles to ensure that you develop your skills, knowledge and understanding in order to meet your target grade. I believe that independent learning with guidance allows you to improve your performance and develop your skills. As a teacher I understand that everyone learns differently and it is important to find the right model for you; whether that be visual, written or kinaesthetic. I ensure that a variety of practical activities are available in your preferred style to embed confidence into your learning. By believing in yourself and having a positive mindset, combined with the right support and encouragement you can succeed. Believe in yourself and you will achieve!
I am an educator and manager with over 15 years’ experience as a lecturer across compulsory and tertiary education. Aside from being Programme Leader for the Bournemouth University BA (Hons) Photography course for 6 years.
After teacher training I spent a year on supply working at various schools on short and long term placements in a variety of subjects. During one placement at a pupil referral unit I was offered a full time position and worked here for 1 year with students with behavioural difficulties and special needs. I then moved to Frederick Gough school in scunthorpe again to fill a position as a teacher of ICT I am now in my 9th year of teaching. After 2 years I secured a position as a head of year and have worked with all age groups from 7 to 11 in this time providing pastoral care and coordinating the learning over over 270 students. I Have just completed my NPQSL (National professional qualification for senior leaders) and hope to make the step to assistant head in the very near future. My relationship and rapport with all students is excellent and I am to help them achieve their best, whatever that may be.
