Working in secondary school almost 17 years (local school and overseas) granted me valuable opportunities to teach a variety of courses, including EAL English, Business Studies, Liberal Studies (Humanities), Economics, Geography and Integrated Business. Among the most satisfying experiences for me as a teacher has been instructing student to understand, analyze and practice their knowledge properly and successfully.
Through my teaching thus far, I have found the method of facilitating rather than dictating to be a highly beneficial style of teaching.
I have been a teacher of English for 3 years - teaching KS3-GCSE. I am familiar with the AQA and Eduqas iGCSE specifications. I have achieved excellent results for GCSE students. I prioritise find gaps, chunking information down and building confidence.
I have been in education in the UK for over 12 years now. I have always taught English and am currently working in senior leadership in a school in the UK. I have tutored both Maths and English from reception age all the way up to GCSE in maths and Year 6 SATS in English. I tailor my lesson to suit the child and always strive to bring fun to the lessons, as I believe this encourages the children to learn. I have a wealth of experience teaching 1:1 and in groups.
