I have been teaching for many years and have taught ages between 6-18 aswell as supporting non English speaking adults to learn English. I can support with English GCSE prep, 11 plus prep, home work help or learning English for non English speakers.

I quickly build rapport with pupils and work out gaps in their learning and the best possible way to teach them what they need to know. My pupils range from year 1 pupils who need support with letter formation and phonics to students preparing for their English GCSEs. I love what I do and this motivates my students. They also grow in terms of confidence and independence too!
I work with pupils of all abilities and needs but have particular experience with SEMH children, neurodiverse children and those with literacy difficulties such as dyslexia.

Hi! My name is Chloe, I have ten years' experience in the teaching profession. My specialism is in the subject of English, with tutoring available for primary school age students following the UK National Curriculum, as well as sessions available in Functional Skills English, maths and ICT, and GCSE English language. I can also offer tuition in animal husbandry, including the care of poultry and other livestock. I have experience keeping horses, chickens, sheep and pigs. Sessions can be tailored to individual needs and learning styles.
I can help with homework, assignments and reading skills. I have experience with working with young people with special educational needs, such as autism or social, emotional and mental health issues, and those who have become disengaged with education. Sessions can be offered online or face-to-face if local. I have a passion for nature and believe this should be incorporated in all subjects wherever possible - although I appreciate that this can be difficult online! I believe humour and enjoyment are an integral part of the learning process and help to cement ideas and skills within our minds.

Concentrating on Maths and English, between 5 and 20 tasks are set each week to plug gaps in learning and offer further challenge to those students who require it. To further support this students can access a freephone teacher helpline to take the pressure away from parents and carers.
As mentioned we follow the national curriculum, do not come with the costs of other tuition centres in around West Bridgford and also have the advantage of being available 24/7.

About my lessons:
To begin I like to dive into my students strengths and weakness in the subject area to gain a better idea of how to cater my lessons in a way that would best benefit my students time .I then personalise lessons around my students to hit specific target areas, looking at how to meet exam board objectives, going over how to structure answers to meet top band and then doing practice exam questions. I also implement active recall each week to continually reinforce my student memory and go back over past material .Practice exam questions and active recall have been proved to be one of the most effective ways to retain information and are key in achieving higher grades. And to end each session off I give a student a small, manageable task to complete before our next session to further consolidate their understanding.
