I have been a part-time tutor for four years. My personality and qualities fit complementary to tutoring, developing others’ potential by sharing mine. I specialise in working with students on a 1-on-1 basis, easing and tackling individual areas of difficulty at their appropriate pace – something that can be difficult to receive in the standard school environment. My teaching approach is adaptive upon students’ own learning attitude, thus, presenting resources in various ways. It is focused on fostering a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of a topic, before applying that knowledge to solving questionnaires. I also specially aid with exam preparation to share my own unique methods of working and exam techniques/tips. Ultimately, I aim to develop one’s self-esteem and perseverance to fulfil their own aspirations.
I have taught a wide age group from 5 to 24, which my past tutor sessions were based on creativity of my hobbies such as art, which always worked absolutely well since when I was a GCSE student.
I have many experiences working with children, especially with spending my work experience as an assistant in a primary school class, I was able to interact and deal with various situations to keep the children calm, focused and motivated. As a school tutor, I utilised my organisational skills to collect resources and investigated various methods of teaching to find the most efficient way to deliver difficult contents, suiting the students’ own learning attitude appropriately. I evolved my communication competency whilst discovering the students’ difficulty and preferred revision methods, also.
I am someone who has academically succeeded highly through UK national curriculum. I have passion towards mathematics thus, I have participated and have been awarded many times for UKMT, and moreover, for Chemistry and Physics Olympiad challenges as Gold and Bronze respectively. I held responsibility as a School Ambassador and School tutoring, volunteered to be a Reader Leader who helps those who struggle reading and understanding the story with success. I aid in writing model answers for GCSE & A-Level exam questions as well. Not only am I self-disciplined and persevered but I enjoy hobbies that are based on creativity: DIY craft and art, piano, dancing, sport, ballet, balancing my work and leisure. I am also fluent in English and relatively fluent in Korean with a basic level of French language. My experiences in life, living in various different countries allowed me to interact and adapt into many different societies, overcoming many barriers. Hence, I am very approachable and developed lots of life skills.
Not only have I built responsibilities and punctuality and polished my competencies. For those who I mentor have developed their own self-esteem, confidence and perseverance to fulfil their own aspirations.
I have a passion to teach young children and adults. I like to help others with my knowledge and skills in the above mentioned subjects. I believe that every student is different from the other and therefore I design lesson plans for students according to their needs and learning levels.

I am a fully qualified (QTS) secondary teacher of Biology with 9 years experience working in mainstream schools and I have been tutoring for the last 5 years. I have tutored GCSE and A level biology following the OCR and AQA specifications. I am passionate about my subject and provide a range of reources from past exam questions, experimental methods, animations and text books to enable students to fully understand the subject and for them to achieve thier best. HI, my name is Charlotte but everyone calls me Lottie. I have the ability to communicate with children especially those with learning disabilities as I have learned so much from having them myself. Having Dyslexia, Irlens and Hearing Processing Disorder made school really hard for me so with the right techniques that I honed over the years I was able to go to my dream university to do my dream course, Architecture. Throughout secondary school I tutored at GCSE level in the 3 sciences and the Design Subjects as this is where I thrived. During the last few years of teaching i have used variety of methods to explain the topic to my students and I prefer to choose specific method of teaching for all my students because I believe every person has different way of understanding and requires special attention towards that specific way and to achieve that level of understanding I always try to get the right connection with my student by listening their problems their stories and they always feel very much comfortable with me to share what they are troubling with. I also prefer to use different online videos and presentations related to recent advancements in that specific topic. I often perform different activities with my students, specifically with university students, that can help them understand the nature of physiological and biological pathways. My usual method of teaching involves collecting information from different sources and compile them for my students and first explain each and every detail of that specific topic then I help my student to comprise their own notes from their understanding and I believe that to achieve exceptional grades you should always explain your answers in your own words rather than just rephrasing from textbooks or manuscripts. Recently some of my students graduated from the university and got their desired jobs straight away and few of them also got enrolled in postgraduate studies to continue their passion for medical sciences. I can proudly say that my efforts and hard work on my students gave fruit full results in developing their academic and professional careers as well as their confident personality.
