Science Clinic Private Tutors was founded in 2010. Our vision was to help struggling children understand the concepts of the major subjects which are sought after by many colleges & universities. Our tutoring was mainly in the main subjects (Maths, all 3 Sciences & English Language) to exam students only. Because of the huge demand of tutoring in all year groups, we now teach students across the board from Primary (KS1 & KS2) through to GCSE, A-level and University. We were luck to have had colleagues we share the same vision with join us. Now we can teach all subjects from Primary through to GCSE, College /A-levels and Science & Maths at University level. All our teachers / tutors are graduates and qualified teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) who understand the National Curriculum. Some of them are examiners at GCSE and A-level, which means they know the exam techniques students need to answer the exam questions properly and get better grades. Within the team, we have professionals with very high qualifications ie Masters Degrees (MSc / MA) and PhDs in various subjects. We can, therefore, be confident to say we are professionals who are dedicated to what we do with proven records in the UK’s most entrance and national exams. We are a tutoring organisation that is defined by its professionalism. Our aim is to provide a personal service. This makes us very different from most tutoring companies that just offer a platform for tutors and students to meet. We speak to clients so that we can match them with the most appropriate tutor for their needs. When this happens, the results can be remarkable & confidence grows. We personally know all our tutors and all have had DBS checks and their qualifications checked before we take them on. We are also a member of The Tutors’ Association (TTA) which was formed in 2013 to provide standards to the tutoring industry.

I have been a teacher of English for 3 years - teaching KS3-GCSE. I am familiar with the AQA and Eduqas iGCSE specifications. I have achieved excellent results for GCSE students. I prioritise find gaps, chunking information down and building confidence.
My main experience is in KS2 (Years 4, 5 and 6) but am qualified for the whole Primary age range, 5- 11 years. In my experience as a Teacher, I have taught children with Dyslexia, children with Autism, children with Aspergers, children with social and emotional needs and looked after children.
My approach is very child centered. I look at celebrating the positives first and then gradually working through the harder bits, all at the child's pace, with a view to plugging any gaps so the child can celebrate success in their learning.
I teach in many different ways to appeal to the different learning styles (auditory, visual and kinaesthetic) and believe it is important to give the child a meaningful context to their learning (i. e relate it to everyday life).
I have many years experience of highly successful teaching from Key Stage 3 to Oxbridge entrance level. I have worked with Cambridge in an International School with pupils from many different backgrounds. I gained a good Rapport with the students, and improved their grades within the first term of testing. I am able to help my students to maximise their potential using targeted revision and exam techniques. I am considered to be patient and adaptable and many of my students come to me by recommendation. I hold an ACTDEC and TEFL in English Language & Literature from GLC in London, and a Master's degree as a Therapist with Distinction from UKOC in London. These academic experiences have equipped me with a strong foundation in the subject matter and a comprehensive understanding of pedagogical techniques. Through my previous tutoring endeavours, I have found that improving one’s confidence is the most mutually beneficial approach to tutoring, as it allows students to feel comfortable enough to make mistakes and learn from them; this in turn, will lead to an increase in marks and grades. This has proven to be extremely effective as past tutees have gone on to achieve grades well above their predicted grades, surprising the institutions themselves.
