I am a friendly, supportive and easy-going tutor that works with students by encouraging them and pushing them to do the best they can.
I am very familiar with the popular set texts for GCSE's and A-Level's such as Shakespeare's King Lear and Romeo & Juliet or Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men and many others.
I also specialise in poetry, essay writing, critical thinking and analysing texts, exam techniques and more. Therefore whatever the set text may be, I can teach you or your child the skills necessary to get the marks they need, while also enjoying learning as lessons are often tailored to the students' interests.

For KS3 students (11-14), it’s important to broaden their knowledge base by using longer texts from various historical periods, comparing and contrasting literary contexts and choices, and introducing analytical thinking and writing. This ensures students are exploring literature and their own writing through a rich, varied approach in line with national curriculum guidelines, leaving them well prepared to develop themselves further in the following years. Hi! My names Lisa and I am an English and Drama/Theatre Studies Tutor. My qualifications are up to a Masters Level with 14 years of experience in live Touring, West End and Regional Theatre and Events,
I have been tutoring English to British and Foreign students for over 8 years, working with all age ranges in ESL, exam preparation for 11+, 8+ and in depth text analysis. I tailor the lesson to suit the needs of the student using the AQA, OCR, WJEC and Scottish curriculum for GCSE, A levels, National 5's and Scottish Higher's as well as helping degree students with their essays, personal statement, college applications and dissertations.
