I am an enthusiastic and dedicated English tutor, examiner and writer. I offer stimulating and enjoyable lessons via video call which build upon each student's strengths to enable them to overcome their difficulties with greater confidence. I find tutoring immensely rewarding and strive to help all my students meet their full potential regardless of their ability. I have experience teaching SEN students, particularly those with autism, dyslexia and manual difficulties. To date I have had 100% pass rate and all of my students have achieved grades 9-4 (A*- C). I am a member of the Tutors Association and have a current DBS Enhanced certificate .
I understand fully the advantages and disadvantages of studying from home as I have gained all of my qualifications through distance learning, including my PhD. I also home schooled my son from the age of 4-16. I have been a judge of the BBC Radio 2 '500 Words' children's short story competition and a volunteer for the National Literacy Trust's "Summer Reading Challenge" for children. I have a research interest in Thomas Hardy and write poetry and English study guides.

I went into teaching as it has always been my passion to try to make a difference in children's lives.
After careful consideration I decided to leave mainstream education and set up my own learning centre using kinaesthetic activities with play therapy.
The centre also offers meditation in order to promote wellbeing in body, mind and spirit.
I believe children are all individual and no two children are the same.
My motto is "when a flower doesn't bloom you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower"

I am a highly motivated and dedicated science tutor offering one to one personal tuition for single or combined science subjects. I've been working in the scientific/education field since 1982 firstly at Oxford University and then Faringdon Academy and have a proven track record of success over the last 15 years. My aim is to provide personal tuition tailored to suit the individual needs of students explaining scientific concepts in an easy-to-understand way, enabling a good understanding of the subject matter and increasing students confidence and grades. Students are encouraged to answer past exam papers to gain full appreciation of scientific key words, exam technique and mark scheme associated with each question. Science Explained Simply!
