I have toured around the world many times, doing thousands of concerts and recorded in some of the best and worst recording studios available.

For the past 15 years I have not only been teaching drums but also seriously studying drums and percussion to grow and improve my knowledge. DrummingWithOli is an independent drum tuition business, founded by Oli. A popular music graduate from Leeds Conservatoire, in 2020. Having been playing since the age of 6, with experience in drumming in venues across Leeds, recording for local artists, playing in pit bands for amateur theatre productions and regularly playing at church since the age of 12, Oliver is well equipped to teach students from beginner to advanced levels of any age. I have been drumming since the age of 9, and since picking up the sticks I have played a number of shows, events, live gigs, pub nights and so on. This has helped me develop my confidence skills on stage as well as improve my musical skills.
Venues/ events I have performed at include The M Festival in St Albans. I have played this event 5 times with the biggest audience being over 3000 people. This is a great event as they put all kinds of upcoming bands on their line up to really let people show off their great music.
Other venues include the Alban Arena in St Albans, and The Horn pub in St Albans.
The Horn have hosted some very memorable nights, with bands such as Bastille playing headline shows in the past. Other bands such as Vant have played The Horn, with my band, Echo Infirmary, being the support act.

If you’ve come to get you’re groove on you’ve come to the right place! My name is Jack, I'm 23 and have been playing drums for 14 years. I learnt how to play drums at a music school when I was 9 up on till I was 20 where I did 7 grades getting distinctions and merits. I have also played live all over Birmingham in bands and for the music school I used to go. I can teach you how to read and write music as well as playing by ear. The first lesson is free so you can decide if you’re interested.
I have learnt to play in a range of styles from heavy hitting rock to smooth jazz. As well as R&B, rap and dance music, so there's a wide range of music to learn and explore! As I said reading and writing music will also be taught if interested. I have professional books which I still use for my own practice and will provide copies to practice with at home. If there are songs in particular you'd like to learn then that's fantastic as you can then show off your favourite songs!
I am a very patient person so will go at your own pace whether you're new to drums or experienced; we all learn in different ways. The main thing is to have fun and hopefully love drums as much as I do! Drums are the back beat of any song, keeping the time and rhythm which in my opinion makes us the most important player.

BIO
With a passion for hitting hard and a career spanning nearly two decades, I'm Jamie: a professional drummer based in Kent with my own fully equipped, sound-proof studio, where I both work and teach on real acoustic drums. While my speciality lies in rock and metal music, I’ve expanded my repertoire over the course of my career to include a diverse range of genres such as jazz, funk, hip-hop and pop. Alongside my freelance work as a musician, I’ve also been teaching drumming for over six years, both privately and at music schools.
I genuinely love teaching, and enjoy working with students of all ages across various genres and styles. My approach is student-centred, prioritising their own unique interests and goals. Whether it's progressing in graded exams, mastering a specific song, honing timing or developing overall musicality and confidence, I tailor my lessons to each student. I’m committed to continuous learning and growth, and have had the privilege of studying under esteemed drummer Dave Elitch. £32 per hour, £22 per half hour. In person, online or at your home for a £10 surcharge within approximately 10 miles. I play, teach and record in my own professional studio near Tenterden, about nine miles from Ashford.

I’ve been teaching drums privately since 2018, catering to a diverse range of students aged 6 to 70. As an Enhanced DBS Verified instructor, I prioritise the safety and well-being of my students, and I’m happy to provide references upon request. Additionally, since 2023, I have the privilege of teaching at two respected institutions: the prestigious YMS in Canterbury and Drumwise in Maidstone.

Many students have joined bands or embarked on solo projects purely for the joy of playing and making music. We also teach during the school day at the following schools: Christchurch Primary, St Laurence, Lumiar, Devizes and Semley.
I teach to all ages, up to Grade 8 on the Drums, Grade 4 on the Guitar and on the Piano I will teach to a high standard, but not through the grading system as I only teach basic level sight reading for Piano.
I have taught many students over the years at varying ages and skill levels, and all have come out more passionate and more improved at there instrument.
My students have all mentioned how they find there lessons thoroughly productive and enjoyable, finding themselves increasingly motivated to play after having lessons with me. (see references at the bottom)
In my lessons I will take the students up through the Grades (ONLY for Drums and Guitar), via Rockschool, teaching them everything they need from technique, learning how to sight read, developing improvisation skills, playing in many different genres of music, and how to play by ear. I will also cover how to complement the music you are playing to and how to serve the music. As well as developing musicianship skills and how to have the right attitude in the music business.
- on the Piano I will teach to a high standard, going through everything listed above, as well as scales, arpeggios, inversions, learning classical and contemporary pieces, and basic level sight reading, but NOT grades unfortunately.

I am Marty, I am the Owner/Director and one of the tutors at Double M Studios.
I decided to launch DMS due to the passion I have for music and to make it a platform to be able to offer opportunities to students and adult learners that they may not be able to get anywhere else.
Music has been part of my life for a very long time. I was lucky enough to have two of the most amazing guitar tutors that anybody could have asked for. One of which became a very big inspiration for what I am doing now.
