Hi everyone , welcome. My name is Chris J. .
I’ve been playing drums for a long time, working with many groups and artists in a variety of musical genres.
These experiences include:
The Mothmen, Pink Military, Judy Nylon, The Mighty Wah!, Suns of Arqa, Simply Red, The Soultrain, Western Valley Hot www.*** to name but a few.
If you are not familiar with all these acts the genres of music span from Pop, Rock, Country and Western, World music, Northern Soul and a bit of Jazz thrown into the recipe somewhere .
I have toured around the world many times, doing thousands of concerts and recorded in some of the best and worst recording studios available.
All have made for great learning experiences.
For the past 15 years I have not only been teaching drums but also seriously studying drums and percussion to grow and improve my knowledge. This has not only made me a better musician but has enabled me be able to teach to the best of my abilities and pass that knowledge on with passion, enthusiasm and fun.

Our Principle, Andrew, graduated from The BRIT Performaing Arts and Technology College (Jessie J, Adele, Any Winehouse are past students) and is also a performing solo singer. I am a 22 year old music graduate and I play gigs around London with various artists, including my own band. A couple of years ago I started teaching the drums to some students and found that I had a huge passion for teaching and watching my students progress. I try to make my lessons as fun and engaging as possible and always cater to the students needs or wants.
Learning an instrument should be fun; therefore I like to teach people the important parts of drumming (ie. technique, rhythm etc.) whilst teaching them to play their favourite songs. A typical lesson would last around an hour. I have two years experience as a drum tutor and over five as a professional. My lessons are for anyone wanting to improve on the drums; whether you are a complete beginner or someone with experience.
The main genres in which I specialise are rock, metal and pop with some of my favourite artists including; Iron Maiden, Nirvana, Megadeth, Deftones.
I have been drumming since the age of 9, and since picking up the sticks I have played a number of shows, events, live gigs, pub nights and so on. This has helped me develop my confidence skills on stage as well as improve my musical skills.
Venues/ events I have performed at include The M Festival in St Albans. I have played this event 5 times with the biggest audience being over 3000 people. This is a great event as they put all kinds of upcoming bands on their line up to really let people show off their great music.
Other venues include the Alban Arena in St Albans, and The Horn pub in St Albans.
The Horn have hosted some very memorable nights, with bands such as Bastille playing headline shows in the past. Other bands such as Vant have played The Horn, with my band, Echo Infirmary, being the support act.
DrummingWithOli is an independent drum tuition business, founded by Oli. A popular music graduate from Leeds Conservatoire, in 2020. Having been playing since the age of 6, with experience in drumming in venues across Leeds, recording for local artists, playing in pit bands for amateur theatre productions and regularly playing at church since the age of 12, Oliver is well equipped to teach students from beginner to advanced levels of any age. Oliver has also a merit in both grade 8 in drum practical, and grade 5 theory.

Dan N. is an established drummer and tutor who has learnt from amazing drummers such as Richard Spaven and Gabor Dornyei whilst studying at The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance. Specialising mainly in R'n'B, Hip Hop and Jungle, Dan has a wide drumming vocabulary, inspired by the likes of Nate Smith and Yussef Dayes. lessons are available for all ages and skill levels, focussing on technique and independence over video, all genres and concepts can be explored upon request.

BIO
With a passion for hitting hard and a career spanning nearly two decades, I'm Jamie: a professional drummer based in Kent with my own fully equipped, sound-proof studio, where I both work and teach on real acoustic drums. While my speciality lies in rock and metal music, I’ve expanded my repertoire over the course of my career to include a diverse range of genres such as jazz, funk, hip-hop and pop. Alongside my freelance work as a musician, I’ve also been teaching drumming for over six years, both privately and at music schools.
I genuinely love teaching, and enjoy working with students of all ages across various genres and styles. My approach is student-centred, prioritising their own unique interests and goals. Whether it's progressing in graded exams, mastering a specific song, honing timing or developing overall musicality and confidence, I tailor my lessons to each student. I’m committed to continuous learning and growth, and have had the privilege of studying under esteemed drummer Dave Elitch. I also have a range of experience working in professional studios and with various bands.

I’ve been teaching drums privately since 2018, catering to a diverse range of students aged 6 to 70. As an Enhanced DBS Verified instructor, I prioritise the safety and well-being of my students, and I’m happy to provide references upon request. Additionally, since 2023, I have the privilege of teaching at two respected institutions: the prestigious YMS in Canterbury and Drumwise in Maidstone.
Throughout my teaching career, I’ve seen my students achieve remarkable success: some have excelled in graded exams, while others have pursued further education in music schools. Many students have joined bands or embarked on solo projects purely for the joy of playing and making music. As part of my comprehensive approach, I ensure that all students develop competent foundational skills in reading music effectively.
Drawing upon my extensive experience as a working musician, my lessons extend beyond drumming: I provide valuable insights into essential topics such as tuning, recording, group rehearsal and song-writing. By incorporating these aspects into my teaching, I equip my students with a well-rounded skill set that extends beyond just drumming proficiency.

If you’ve come to get you’re groove on you’ve come to the right place! My name is Jack, I'm 23 and have been playing drums for 14 years. I learnt how to play drums at a music school when I was 9 up on till I was 20 where I did 7 grades getting distinctions and merits. I have also played live all over Birmingham in bands and for the music school I used to go. I can teach you how to read and write music as well as playing by ear. The first lesson is free so you can decide if you’re interested.
I have learnt to play in a range of styles from heavy hitting rock to smooth jazz. As well as R&B, rap and dance music, so there's a wide range of music to learn and explore! As I said reading and writing music will also be taught if interested. I have professional books which I still use for my own practice and will provide copies to practice with at home.
