My teaching experience is based on my friends. I have not been practising it outside my inner circle, but there is always a place to grow. I have an IB diploma certificate that can prove my efficiency level in the English language and a certificate from a Ukrainian school supporting my high level of knowledge in my native language.

TESTIMONIALS: "As a DoP on the project I witnessed a professional attitude at all times with a deep respect towards his team and a clarity of style purpose and collaboration with my skills. He is very creative and displays a caring talent towards story telling. In my judgement of 40 years experience in the film biz Daniel is and will make a great writer director." - Ben Cole, DP ("Made In Dagenham") "Daniel and I were fortunate to know each other previously, having worked together on a full feature left-field European film (Alice Through the Looking). Coming together on Gandad there was, therefore, a mutual understanding of style and artistic integrity. Significant discussions and pre-production work also ensured clarity for me, as Gandad, what key objectives were. Daniel’s excellent and clear scripting ensured further clarity. This combination of pre-production skills was therefore instrumental on-set in determining accurate and timely scheduling. Further clarity with DOP added to a smooth and entirely professional approach to achieving timely objectives." - John Locke, Actor (The Darkest Hour).

I'm a dedicated post-A-level student with a strong academic background in Drama, Psychology, and Politics. Having achieved an exceptional 190/200 in my GCSE Drama exam (2023) and recently completed A-level Drama with distinction in all practical assessments, I have both the technical understanding and creative insight to support students at GCSE level and below.
Beyond the classroom, I’ve performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, co-directed a school production of Holes, and earned distinctions in all LAMDA grades (1–8). These experiences have deepened my practical knowledge of performance, character work, and theatre-making—skills I bring into every tutoring session.
Whether you're looking to boost exam confidence, refine monologue performance, or understand theatre practitioners and set texts more deeply, I'm here to help you thrive.

With over 30 years of classroom, strategic, managerial, examination and assessment experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to tutoring your child/you. Tutoring is all about focusing the student on exactly what the question/task demands and demystifying the process, opening up possibilities and developing intellectual curiosity.
In my most recent school, one class had a value added score of +2.07. Across the entire GCSE cohort, 87% G9-G4 achieved, from a predicted 54%.
Before we start the tutoring, I carry out an audit of what knowledge and understanding of content there is, plus learning about the obstacles you face, what perceptions hold you back and finding out what kind of learner you are.
I will listen really carefully to what you need and will offer a plan to help you progress and move forward. Similarly, if I can't help, I will inform you of this too. It's really important that we get on.
Every student/learner is different; every backstory is unique. Many students have barriers; sometimes reassurance and pointing in the right direction will suffice.
Some years ago, I tutored a student on a Saturday morning. He was a bright and a very able science/maths learner (straight As at GCSE) yet could not handle English or Literature and this was clearly holding him back (both his own self-esteem and his grades). It took a few weeks to instill a new way of apporaching the texts/writing, but once we applied a 'scientific approach' to analysis, it completely revolutinised his way of working. (He moved from a D to an A in four months of being with me, by the way!)
That was not a one-off. My recent tutoring has enabled me to accelerate learners way beyond what they thought they were capable of. Tutees are at the centre of the experince and it is all focused on them. I have an excellent interpersonal style, which is firm and fair, with a strong sense of agenda and coverage. We will go over things, revisiting to reinforce previous learning and to create the space where the tutee feels more independent and able to move forward without support. When a tutee says "I think I'm good from here!" I take that as a moment of great success!
Whether it's GCSE, A Level, BTEC or degree level, I will commit to working with you to make great progress.

English has always been my passion. Literature is vital in everyday life, every word we say (or type nowadays!) forms a giant text that is personal to us, and I love the craft of analysing it! English is full of opportunities to understand ourselves and those around us better, creating a world of empathy and diversity.
I am excited to help students excel and reach their full potential. English is a completely creative subject, with no correct answer, I hope to enlighten students to the boundless possibilities that English entails. I will tailor my sessions to the student`s academic needs, but also ensure that they leave with not only good grades, but a new love for literary problem-solving, giving them an emotionally enhanced perspective of the world.
French is vital to the workings of our world, and I am excited to offer tutoring for these languages too! I have previously helped many GCSE French students bump up their grades and even move into the Higher course. I equally have a passion for the Dramatic Arts and am excited to offer tutoring in Drama, with focus on the final written exam.
I achieved A*AB at A level, and Grade 8 & 9 in all subjects I teach at GCSE.
My lessons will be completely adaptable to my student`s needs, as I believe students respond best to tutoring that is tailored to their specific learning style.
I specialise in :
English GCSE
Texts including: Lord of the Flies, Macbeth, Romeo & Juliet, An Inspector Calls, Power & Conflict Poetry
English A Level
Texts including: Othello, The Handmaid`s Tale, William Blake Poetry, Keats Poetry, Death of a Salesman, A Streetcar Named Desire, Beloved
Drama GCSE & A Level
French GCSE & A Level
Spanish GCSE
I understand that nowadays it is harder to encourage students to find the joy in learning, so I hope I will be able to inspire some joy from the process. It is my intention to demonstrate that the difficulty of each subject should not deter a student, but rather intrigue them into learning more.
I have been teaching online for 6 months, utilising tools like online whiteboards and powerpoint presentations to assist in the learning process. I have found students to enjoy online learning as it eradicates the fear of starting tutoring with someone they do not yet know, and therefore their confidence and approach to their work is heightened at a far quicker pace!

I trained for 3 years as an actor at Birmingham School of Speech & Drama ( now Royal Birmingham Conservatoire) and have worked in theatre, film and commercials. As an actor I've found out that the learning process that starts at drama school is something that never ends. There is something wonderful about that fact. Each new role opens up another little world of discovery!
Coaching drama school applicants is a particularly appealing thing. Having been one myself I'm so aware of how much there is to learn and how exciting it all is!
My approach is student-centred rather than method centred. There are many approaches to acting and there is definitely not one method that fits every actor.
Another thought is that I believe in teaching with positive reinforcement rather than criticism.
After the first lesson please pay the full amount in advance of any lesson you would like to arrange. If you had to cancel the lesson, if you were to do so four hours or more before the start I would refund the fee, but if were less than four hours beforehand I would not.
At the moment I solely teach online via Skype or Zoom.
If the internet connection prevented us from linking up for a lesson I would schedule another without further charge at a different and mutually agreed time.

Hello, My name is Abby, I am currently 23 years old and I currently work as a 1:1 LSA (DBS checked) in a mainstream primary school setting where I specialise with children with additional needs ranging from autism, ADHD, dyslexia and other needs. For the past year I have also been working as an English tutor and have predominantly worked with GCSE students and one primary school child. Again ranging in ability, from teenagers with strong abilites who just need a bit of a helping hand, to students with autism who are struggling at grasping thier subject. I am not a qualified teacher as I am traigning to be an acreditied counsellor. I strongly feel that this occupational ambition has really helped me in the field of education as all of the students that work with require more that just 'teaching' they require confidence and encouragement that they can ahieve their goals and they can excel in anything that put their mind to. Being the age I am aslo has its benefits as it's not that long since I was sitting all of my exams and remembering how stressful it all was! During this strange time that we are all experiencing due to the Virus I have decided to try and do this online! As either a tutor or just a helping hand to any parents that need a little break! I'm freindly, fun and can work with children of all ages (primary I can help with more subjects than just English!) Please don't hesitate to send me a message if you have any questions!!
