After teacher training I spent a year on supply working at various schools on short and long term placements in a variety of subjects. During one placement at a pupil referral unit I was offered a full time position and worked here for 1 year with students with behavioural difficulties and special needs. I then moved to Frederick Gough school in scunthorpe again to fill a position as a teacher of ICT I am now in my 9th year of teaching. After 2 years I secured a position as a head of year and have worked with all age groups from 7 to 11 in this time providing pastoral care and coordinating the learning over over 270 students. I Have just completed my NPQSL (National professional qualification for senior leaders) and hope to make the step to assistant head in the very near future. My relationship and rapport with all students is excellent and I am to help them achieve their best, whatever that may be.
I have been in education for over 25 years and have gained a vast amount of experinece in the classroom with children from nursery to year 6 inclusive and have also tutored children in recpeption to year 11 inclusive.
I believe in building on strengths and planning individual programmes for each tutee based on these and their preferred learning method. I do not believe in sticking to what the government expect children to be able to do but work to the level the tutee is at enabling them to achieve their true potential.
I have successfully tutored children with special educational needs including dyslexia where I have seen reading ages increase by 2 years in the space of 6 months. I have enabled year 6 children to achieve beyond their predicted score in SATs and have a 100% record with 11+ and independent school entrance exams - indeed 2 of my tutees gained scholarships to a school that only gives 2 a year.

We have a wealth of experience in teaching and guiding children through their academic years and are pleased to be able to say that the majority of our students come to us through recommendation. We are also delighted to be able to say that a number of our former students have chosen to send their own children to us for tutoring.
At SBK tuition, we feel it is important to do everything we can to keep your child safe so all of our tutors have an enhanced DBS and our classrooms are covered by CCTV.
Our aims include providing a comprehensive learner centred service working to enable learners to make informed choices about their lives, by encouraging them to take an active part in their own community for their own and the community's benefit.
I have a varied background in IT and Education. Providing life coaching, tuition and support to all ages from primary school to the elderly. I also have SEN and disability experience.
We provide a pathway to an apprenticeship or full-time employment/learning. In this 10 week course you can achieve your Maths and English in functional skills in either level 1 or 2. You will also learn invaluable work skills as well as achieving recognised qualifications in your vocational area. After being carefully matched to a 5-week work placement we will then help you to progress onto an apprenticeship/full time employment/further training.
PIP offers a flexible and dynamic range of services, including a full range of training and education, such as literacy and numeracy, travel training, creative arts, work placements, and support into mainstream education.
Person-centred planning is at the core of all of PIP’s services. We work with our students to produce individual timetables, based on their goals and skills. We believe in promoting the choice and independence of the people that use our services.
During my working life, I have been involved in a wide range of teaching activities from internal training in organisations to teaching in higher educations settings.
For over 6 years I have delivered private Maths to children ( Key stage 1 to 4) and young adults (GCSE) and Spanish lessons for children, young people (GCSC, A levels) and adults taking advantage of my previous experience in adult education. In addition, I have run courses for children in different schools in London and gained valuable experience working with them.
I have also professional experience as IT Consultant (SAP) and trainer.
