I am an IT graduate with IT skills and my high school course was in science( Maths, Biology, chemistry, physica). Now, I am studying msc in Data Science in York Saint John University.

I first worked for the EARN association located in Paris as a programmer. Then I became the head of an internet service provider doing all the necessary work to keep it going. Programming, managing, etc. I managed databases, web sites, etc. I still do in fact!

With over 25 years of experience in the Information Technology sector, I am a seasoned professional with a multifaceted career trajectory. Commencing my journey in 1996, I initially ventured into technical support, providing expertise for both Apple and Windows systems. Subsequently, I transitioned into a network engineering role, accumulating eight years of invaluable experience in optimizing and maintaining network infrastructures.
Evolving with the dynamic tech landscape, I delved into web development for the next 14 years, honing my skills in crafting sophisticated and user-friendly web solutions. Simultaneously, my passion for knowledge dissemination led me to a decade-long career in education. From teaching students at the primary level to guiding Master's students, I have had the privilege of imparting my insights across diverse educational institutions and five prestigious universities in the UK.
Presently, as a Senior Application Developer in a prominent UK firm, I bring a wealth of experience and a comprehensive skill set to my role. My journey reflects not only adaptability and technical proficiency but also a commitment to nurturing the next generation of IT professionals. I have over 20 years of experience tutoring Computer Science and ICT in various secondary schools and online including GCSE and A Level standards.

Have been into IT for in excess of 40 years and during that time, 20 years I ran my own computer repair business. Have worked in the local community extensively and enjoy working with people of advanced years oversome their fear of IT. I reguarly run one-on-one tuition and classes also, on a wide range of subjects - Digital Photography, Audacity, Ebay, MS Word, Emails, Facebook etc.

After teacher training I spent a year on supply working at various schools on short and long term placements in a variety of subjects. During one placement at a pupil referral unit I was offered a full time position and worked here for 1 year with students with behavioural difficulties and special needs. I then moved to Frederick Gough school in scunthorpe again to fill a position as a teacher of ICT I am now in my 9th year of teaching. After 2 years I secured a position as a head of year and have worked with all age groups from 7 to 11 in this time providing pastoral care and coordinating the learning over over 270 students. I Have just completed my NPQSL (National professional qualification for senior leaders) and hope to make the step to assistant head in the very near future. My relationship and rapport with all students is excellent and I am to help them achieve their best, whatever that may be.
I am an Oxford graduate (Worcester College), with a degree in Literae Humaniores - Latin and Greek language and literature, as well as ancient and modern philosophy (BA 2013, MA 2016) I am also a professional classical singer and conductor, active around the UK. I am a Lay Vicar at Chichester Cathedral, where I sing professionally with the cathedral choir. Friendly, approachable, and professional, I am passionate about teaching and helping people to develop their knowledge and skills.
My business, JB Tutoring, operates from Chichester. I offer teaching and tutoring in singing, voice use, music, classical languages and classical literature. I also tutor online, so I am able to take on students from anywhere. I teach and tutor my academic subjects at a variety of levels, from pre-GCSE to undergraduate and master's level, and my students most often go on to receive A*s and 1st Class results in their examinations. I am also happy to tutor younger pupils towards Common Entrance examinations. I have experience in preparing students for Oxbridge Admissions, and offer such preparation for Classics and related subjects (including Archaeology and Philosophy - please send me a message to discuss this further). My language teaching is based on the way in which classical languages are taught at Oxford, and I believe in the development both of analytical language skills and an instinct for the art of translation. For GCSE and A-Level, it is important for vocabulary and grammar to be secure, so I encourage a rigorous approach to language, but one that is interesting. I ask for a tutee to try their hardest - as long as they do, they will be met with an enthusiastic, patient, and understanding tutor, a tutor dedicated to his teaching and his pupil. It is vital to tailor sessions to the student, and I customise my lessons for each student I have based on their needs.
