Hi! I have 4 years of online tutoring experience in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and English. My teaching style is very interactive and supportive. I encourage students to ask questions and arrive at solutions having completely understood the concept. In order to keep the interest of the student alive, I find engaging short videos, documentaries and activities. I am a fully qualified science teacher (first class degree, PGCE, QTS and DBS check). I teach at an 11-18 school with 8 years experience as a private tutor, with my speciality being in Chemistry. I have taught the full range of levels and abilities with experience of a variety of exam boards (AQA, OCR and Edexcel). My students have always provided me with positive feedback and achieved at least their desired target grades.
I have experience in industry and use those skills and technquies to link the courses to real life uses as I believe that knowing how areas of the course are used in life gives a better connection and undertsanding of the content. I make and provide my own resources for the content that I am teaching and use as many exam style questions as possible. These are used to help improve the student's understanding of what is expected and not to fear a question that they may feel that they 'don't understand' but the skills and confident to attempt questions. To also continually assess the student's understanding, I carry out end of topic assessments with them to see how they are truly progessing in the given topic. Following from this, all assessments are then discussed between the student and I to comment on any errors made and how these can be improved upon.
Each child is different and will understand things in their own time in a way that best suits them, I am here to provide support to students and I am willing to work with them to find a learning method that suits them to make the best progress.

I believe all students can reach their maximum potential if time is taken to find the learning style best suited to them. No question is a silly question and I am happy to help even outside of teaching time where possible. I am currently a first year medical student at the University of Leeds, so I know a thing or two about working hard. It hasn’t been easy to get to this position but with the right mentorship, I believe anything is possible. My teaching style will consist of a range of learning the knowledge as well as applying it through active recall, mini tests (scores do not matter) and past paper questions which can be worked through independently as well as with me. I believe variation is key to finding the best learning style for a student as well as being aware that we all make mistakes and they are there to learn from. I have both mentorship and tutoring experience having taken part in a programme in college to help struggling GCSE students. Many of them managed to exceed their expectations and one student even jumped from a 5 in Maths to an 8 in GCSE with the right teaching methods.
In terms of tutoring, I have 1 year of experience teaching students of all abilities.
