I am a confident, outgoing and experienced science teacher specialising in biology. I am also confident in chemistry and physics. I currently teach KS3, GCSE and A-level biology students following the AQA exam board, I am also confident teaching Edexcel and OCR.
I strive to make all of science accessible and enjoyable for students, relating topics to real life, and working through areas student find tough until it clicks for them.
My aim with tutoring is to spend the time with a student, understanding their barriers and working on any area that they need as much as they need until they feel more happy with it. I am fully aware that science can be a barrier for some students and I aim to make the subjects more engaging and approachable. This knowledge and understanding can then be built on using exam questions to cement their understanding and hopefully it is then embedded ready for exams. Looking over exam questions is the best form of revision, but it also is a way to show students how similar questions are year and year and hopefully remove some of fear surrounding GCSEs.
I am a teacher who prides herself on building positive relationships with students, both in the classroom and as a form teacher. I believe these positive relationships are the best way for students to feel confident in their own abilities and bring out the belief that they can do anything.
I have experience in teaching (and tutoring) Years 7-11 in all sciences - Biology, Chemistry, Physics. I offer GCSE tutoring in all three subjects, as well as the combined science GCSE. My specialism is in Biology, and I teach and tutor Biology AS and A level. I have experience in tutoring failing students to help them pass their exams, with quite a few achieving average or above average. My exprience has allowed me to build positive relationships with them, know when to push them, help their confidence and see them shine.
I bring a wealth of experience and resources to my tutoring, which has consistently helped students grasp even the most challenging concepts—especially those they’ve previously struggled with. I tailor my approach based on each student's needs, which may include:
Reviewing key topic knowledge, supported by mini assessments and regular exam-style homework
Developing exam techniques through practice papers and strategies for answering different question types
Providing focused knowledge reinforcement
Teaching effective revision strategies
I have experience teaching GCSE Science across the EdExcel, AQA, and OCR exam boards, and I also teach A-level Biology with a focus on the AQA specification. In addition, I have worked as an exam marker for AQA Biology and Chemistry, which has given me valuable insight into the specific skills, techniques, and language students need to master in order to achieve full marks in exam questions.
All of my students who have worked with me for five months or more have improved by at least two grades above their starting level. The minimum improvement I’ve seen is a one-grade increase for all students.

Hi! I have 4 years of online tutoring experience in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and English. My teaching style is very interactive and supportive. I encourage students to ask questions and arrive at solutions having completely understood the concept. In order to keep the interest of the student alive, I find engaging short videos, documentaries and activities. I do understand that everyone has different levels of confidence in terms of speaking and academics and respectfully work around the same. I will run my lessons online and provide worksheets and notes when required. I will also provide feedback on all the submitted work and will highlight the areas needing improvement. I am cognizant of the national curriculum, particularly GCSE and A levels in the subjects of English, Math, Biology and Chemistry. I really enjoy teaching and will try my best to make it enjoyable.

I have just come to end of a 5 month long stint in an undergraduate research lab at the University of Sheffield where my work focused on understanding protein structure-function relationships so I have experience applying theoretical biochemical concepts to practical scenarios. I have recently been accepted onto a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Leicester. I am more than happy to discuss my academic background with you if you are interested in pursing Biology at degree level. In Biology and Chemistry A level I acheived two As as well as A* in Biology and A in Chemistry at GCSE so I understand what it takes to excel in the exams for these qualifications. My recent experience studying Biology and Chemistry GCSEs and A levels puts me in an excellent position to help you to understand difficult concepts in these subjects to help you perform at your best in your final exams.

Hi everyone, my name is Maddie and I am in my first year of medical school at Aston University! I am passionate about passing on my knowledge about science as it is my passion. I studied Physics, Biology and Chemistry a-level AQA exam board. I am looking to tutor GCSE students in these three subjects. I acquired high grades in these subjects at GCSE as well as A-level. I am looking to tutor AQA GCSE specifically as this is the exam board I am familiar with. I can be flexible and do weekends as well as weekdays (all online). I did personal tutoring whilst I was in sixth form for GCSE students in these science subjects. I use teams as my main form of tutoring 👍 I am also willing to do sessions about getting into Medicine as well as the UCAT and interviews.

Having studied Natural Sciences at Cambridge University alongside coaching the university football team I chose to go into teaching as I enjoyed combining my science knowledge with my ability to explain methods to young people. Seeing young people improve was extremely rewarding and I wanted to put this in an educational setting. I have been a Head of Year and am now Head of a large Science Department. This allows me to keep in touch with new teaching methods and discuss with colleagues ways to help pupils improve especially with essay writing in Biology and data analysis. I am also part of the local AQA hub and therefore I am very aware of where pupils make errors in exams and how to improve in these areas.

I offer online A-level chemistry and GCSE science tutoring.
I have tutored all the major exam boards and have always enjoyed an excellent degree of success. My approach to tutoring is very flexible and I can easily mould my approach to the needs of the student. My experience has shown that most students need help with interpretation of exam questions and a translation of knowledge into marks. To this end, I have a large database of questions to prompt discussion of the subject matter and requirements of the exam markers.
I studied chemistry back in the 90's and stayed on at university to do a PhD in medicinal chemistry and some post doctoral research into polymers. My industrial experience includes AVECIA in huddersfield and Astra Zeneca in Macclesfield. I entered teaching in 2004 and I have never looked back. I quickly took up oportunities of tutoring and have done this alongside my teaching ever since.

I have a wealth of experience during my 7 years in teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Biology and Chemistry are my specialism but will teach physics.
I have been a GCSE examiner for 6 years which has allowed me to have an insight in the way exam papers are marked and written and what the main student misconceptions and errors are.
I adapt my teaching to the requirements of the students whether it be any particular learning difficulty or wanting to focus on skills and exam techniques. I encourage discovery learning and problem solving strategies which will help them succeed in the examinations.

I have been through the process recently so I’m aware of how the current system works. I have also done EPQ and sat the UCAT admissions test so I can offer my support and guidance through this as well as the rest of the admissions process for aspiring medical/dental students (writing personal statements and interview preparation). I will ensure my sessions are interactive and engaging on topics that you specifically need help on so together we can focus on revising these thoroughly. I will also make revision packs that you can use outside of our sessions to keep the knowledge fresh in your brain. This maintains your memory of the difficult topics so that it’s much easier to tackle revision when exam period comes along. I can alter my methods to suit your learning style whether you prefer visual aids, PowerPoints (which I can send to you to keep for revision), videos, written information or diagrams within memorable posters. I will make sure to do exam questions with you every lesson so that the mark scheme answers are very familiar to you.
