I am a very dedicated teacher who specialises in biology but am confident in all three sciences.
I aim to make learning as engaging as possible for all abilities.
I think that my enthusiasm for the subject comes across in my teaching, especially in a one to one setting.
I currently use the AQA specification but am very familiar with Edexcel also.
I love teaching and I love tutoring as it allows more focus on specific areas as well as identifying the child’s areas of strength and weakness.
I strive to make all of science accessible and enjoyable for students, relating topics to real life. I have taught a range of abilities and SEN needs while at my current school while also leading the STEM program, aiming to engage all students.

Having studied Natural Sciences at Cambridge University alongside coaching the university football team I chose to go into teaching as I enjoyed combining my science knowledge with my ability to explain methods to young people. Seeing young people improve was extremely rewarding and I wanted to put this in an educational setting. I have been a Head of Year and am now Head of a large Science Department. This allows me to keep in touch with new teaching methods and discuss with colleagues ways to help pupils improve especially with essay writing in Biology and data analysis. Hi everyone, my name is Maddie and I am in my first year of medical school at Aston University! I am passionate about passing on my knowledge about science as it is my passion. I studied Physics, Biology and Chemistry a-level AQA exam board. I am looking to tutor GCSE students in these three subjects. I acquired high grades in these subjects at GCSE as well as A-level. I am looking to tutor AQA GCSE specifically as this is the exam board I am familiar with. I can be flexible and do weekends as well as weekdays (all online). I did personal tutoring whilst I was in sixth form for GCSE students in these science subjects. I use teams as my main form of tutoring 👍 I am also willing to do sessions about getting into Medicine as well as the UCAT and interviews.

My approach to tutoring is very flexible and I can easily mould my approach to the needs of the student. My experience has shown that most students need help with interpretation of exam questions and a translation of knowledge into marks. To this end, I have a large database of questions to prompt discussion of the subject matter and requirements of the exam markers.
I studied chemistry back in the 90's and stayed on at university to do a PhD in medicinal chemistry and some post doctoral research into polymers. My industrial experience includes AVECIA in huddersfield and Astra Zeneca in Macclesfield. I entered teaching in 2004 and I have never looked back.
