I am a very dedicated teacher who specialises in biology but am confident in all three sciences.
I aim to make learning as engaging as possible for all abilities.
I think that my enthusiasm for the subject comes across in my teaching, especially in a one to one setting.
I currently use the AQA specification but am very familiar with Edexcel also.
I love teaching and I love tutoring as it allows more focus on specific areas as well as identifying the child’s areas of strength and weakness.
I strive to make all of science accessible and enjoyable for students, relating topics to real life. I have taught a range of abilities and SEN needs while at my current school while also leading the STEM program, aiming to engage all students.

I have just come to end of a 5 month long stint in an undergraduate research lab at the University of Sheffield where my work focused on understanding protein structure-function relationships so I have experience applying theoretical biochemical concepts to practical scenarios. I have recently been accepted onto a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Leicester. Having studied Natural Sciences at Cambridge University alongside coaching the university football team I chose to go into teaching as I enjoyed combining my science knowledge with my ability to explain methods to young people. Hi everyone, my name is Maddie and I am in my first year of medical school at Aston University! I am passionate about passing on my knowledge about science as it is my passion. I studied Physics, Biology and Chemistry a-level AQA exam board. I am looking to tutor GCSE students in these three subjects. I acquired high grades in these subjects at GCSE as well as A-level. I am looking to tutor AQA GCSE specifically as this is the exam board I am familiar with. I can be flexible and do weekends as well as weekdays (all online). I did personal tutoring whilst I was in sixth form for GCSE students in these science subjects. In our first session (which is free by the way) I want to achieve 2 things; firstly I want to get to know you as a student. What are you struggling with? What approach would work best for you? How can we be as time-efficient as possible? Secondly, I want you to see how I teach so you know what to expect. Once we have those goals ticked off, we can plan ahead for our next sessions. I like for my students to let me know ahead of time what they would like to cover, but I also understand that sometimes things come up and the plan changes. I also keep a focus on exam technique, it's so easy to know the content but be missing the application part so I ensure to build exam skills into each session. I am also always happy for you to send me any practice questions you have done so I can mark them and we can go over feedback in the session.
