I am currently a Medical student at Keele and a graduate from the University of Salford, achieving a 1st in my degree in Human Biology and Infectious Disease. I begin my classes by asking the student what they want to learn or discuss during the session. If they have a doubt in a concept, I will ask them to explain the same concept to me in their own words and correct them wherever necessary. I will provide some good methods to study or approach that topic. I will conclude the lesson by asking them if there is anything they would like to discuss in our next session so that I could prepare some questions in advance. I will also regularly be assessing your improvement through the use of practice papers to get an idea of where the student is at and how they can further improve. I will personalise my lessons to the student’s style of learning and focus on improving weak areas, as well as spending some time on other topics in order to keep up recall on those. Students will be quizzed each tutoring session on all of the previous topics we have gone through to make sure they have a good recall of the curriculum as a whole.
All the topics in the current will be covered, if that’s what the student would like however students are also free to request topics and questions they are struggling with - which I will go through with them. These will also be brought up in further sessions in order to make sure they understand.
I like to make my lessons engaging and with some fun activities in order to make learning enjoyable for my students. Homework related to the topics covered in the tutoring session will also be given.
