Prior to teaching I have worked in life science Reasearch and Development and in Biopharamceutical research, sales and marketing. I also worked a part-time voluntary teaching assistant in primary and seconday schools for 2 years. In 2014 I decided to change career completely to become a science teacher, so I trained at Kings College, graduating with my PGCE in 2015.
My background prior to teaching brings additional experience and skills to my teaching. Chemistry is my specialist subject. I have taught and tutored all sciences successfully to years 7 to 11, and have taught and tutored Chemistry and Biology at A level.

I am a graduate who has finished studying Maths with Statistics at Royal Holloway University and I have good maths and science teaching skills. I know what techniques are needed for students to thrive and to have a good learning environment. Along with that, I know what techniques are needed to answer exam questions, so that they can do really well, and for them to find their true potential, but most importantly, for students to have a positive and enthusiastic approach to learning. In terms of teaching, I can teach maths, biology and chemistry at KS3, GCSE and A levels. I teach physics at GCSE and at KS3 level. I have 3 years experience as a private tutor and I teach students in the best possible standards as possible as I am very patient and I understand students difficulties and needs and therefore allow them to succeed. I have had 3 years experience in teaching GCSE and A level subjects, which are maths, chemistry, biology and physics. I have also taught geography in the past. I have taught students in person for the past 3 years. For in person teaching, I have taught in libraries and at schools. The first lesson will be a trial lesson, just to introduce myself and also give an indication of where you are working at for your subjects, so that I can plan the lessons according to your needs further forward. At additional request, I will be able to teach Statistics and Further Maths.

Hi! My name is Huda H. and I am from Crawley, West Sussex. I graduated from the University of Northumbria. I did a bachelors degree on Bio Medical Science. I am currently a Maths and Science Tutor. I have experience in tutoring female students for GCSE and A-Level Mathematics and Science for three years. I started tutoring primary students during my GCSE'S. After sucessfully completing my degree, with a second class honours, I wanted to make teaching as my profession. I have been able to help students who were facing a lot of difficulties in understanding the subject by breaking it down step by step making the topic more interesting and easier for the students. I have been able to help my students get through their exams and achieve the best results. I am currently working part time as a Maths Teacher for year 11 students at Oxbridge Online School. I conduct my lessons online via zoom/google meets and I do in person tuition at my home. I provide presentation slides for my students for each subject i teach so that they can refer the slides in the future. I make sure I go step by step when teaching my students. The exam boards I am currently aware of are Cambridge, Edexcel, AQA and OCR.

I am a friendly but demanding private tutor with a fund of real-life stories to bring science to life! I start from where the student is and find their learning style. Then we can approach the concepts and vocabulary in a way that is relevant and targeted. I use online and paper-based exercises to reinforce the essential core knowledge. Past paper practice is essential but not sufficient to succeed.
My tutoring is questioning, methodical and supportive so that the student can achieve their true potential. It is based on more than 10 years of classroom practice in both the state and private sectors and fifteen years of one-to-one science tutoring at GCSE and A-level...all exam boards.
I prefer to tutor online.
My message to students is that there will be a learning style that works for you. Let's find it and achieve success!

Hi! My name is Camron and I am a first year university student, studying Dentistry at Kings College London. I am looking to tutor students that require assistance with GSCE maths and sciences or A-level maths and chemistry. I am willing to offer first hand assistance in order to help you achieve the best grade possible and give you learning techniques that may benefit in later stages of your academic career. Being in your position until only very recently, I believe I have found some effective methods in order to learn hard parts of the syllabus and as a student myself, understand the common topics students may struggle with. This is why I have taken extra care to produce fullproof methods of learning these topics and will explain them to the best of my ability during the lesson.
I think every single student is unique, which is why I believe my bespoke advice coupled with the latest resources will allow students to maximise their progress in the subjects they require help with. From personal experience, I strongly believe the best way to retain knowledge is to ensure they have a complete understanding of it, which is why I will do my very best to make sure this is achieved.
I have also spent 12 months participating in a mentor reading programme, that has allowed me to hone my skills in communication and use them in tutoring.
I look foward to being able to use these skills, techniques and resources in order to assist students.

I am currently a qualified and experienced Science teacher, teaching GCSE and A-Levels in a top Secondary School in Berkshire. I have graduated with a BSc degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Queen Mary University of London, which included an in-depth study of topics such as: Organic Chemistry, Kinetics, Thermodynamics, Quantum Chemistry and Biochemistry. These are topics which are all included in the new A-Level Chemistry syllabus.
Having done Chemistry, Biology, Psychology and Mathematics at A-Level and holding a BSc degree, gives me sound knowledge of the subject and I am an ambassador of the Teach First Graduate Leadership Programme. I have qualified and gained my PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) degree from Canterbury Christ Church University (Kent) in the first year of the programme - August 2017, and had worked as a NQT (newly qualified teacher) in the second year of the programme.
I am told to be an approachable person which allows me to build a very good working relationship with my students. They are never afraid of asking questions and this gives me the opportunity to identify problems and rectify them quickly. Alongside this, I am familiar with the requirements of all exam board specifications including the new AQA GCSE Trilogy (9-1) specification.
I organise my tutor sessions according to the needs and potential of my students and measure their progress regularly.
Having taught Biology (GCSE), Chemistry (GCSE and A-Level) and Physics (GCSE) to students of varying different backgrounds and from challenging backgrounds (including SEN students to students of very high ability in top sets), I have the ability to cater to all students` needs in order to push them to the next level. All students are different and they all have varying needs. I try building a relationship of trust and listen to what their needs are. Science is a challenging subject and most students can do very well, provided they have self-belief and are willing to work hard.
Although I currently teach all three Sciences in a secondary school, my specialism lies in Chemistry due to my BSc degree. I am also confident with the new content of the AQA Trilogy Combined Science, OCR A/B and Edexcel GCSE and AQA and Edexcel A level specifications. I have been tutoring since the age of 16 and my initial experience stems from a language school, in which I taught in, alongside private tutoring.
Due to the changes in the new GCSE and A-Level specifications, I ensure that my students are fully equipped to be able to tackle challenging questions. I incorporate exam-style questions into my teaching to boost pupils` confidence and assess their applied knowledge. There is a huge jump from GCSE to A-Levels however my unique teaching style bridges this gap between GCSE and AS-level. I also ensure that homework is set regularly and assessed. I firmly belief that feedback is the most vital aspect to promote student progress therefore, I provided as much feedback as possible based on questions, homework and work set.
Additionally, I have a proven record of helping students make huge progress academically by boosting their attainment grades dramatically and really motivating them to develop a pure passion for Science.
Further experience below:
• Teaching Science to groups of students across years 7 – 13, accounting for the differing ability of students and differentiating work accordingly.
• Ensuring student understanding through consistent and engaging Assessment for Learning
• Developing KS3/4 schemes or work, ensuring that all lessons are planned with clear aims and objectives, in line with departmental schemes of work
• Promoting intellectual curiosity among students through challenges, and encouraging all students to be actively engaged in their own learning and in reviewing their progress against targets.

My experience private tutoring, completing a Master’s research project and dissertation and travelling throughout Southeast Asia have given me exceptional planning, organizational and leadership skills. I have Masters & Bachelors degrees in Psychology, A-levels in Psychology (A*), Biology (A*), and mathematics (B) and believe I could provide outstanding tutoring in biology and psychology.
During the COVID-19 lockdown I worked with a student over summer, who was preparing to start learning GCSE mathematics once schools resumed. I provided 1-1 sessions, assessing her strengths and difficulties, and preparing lessons that built her confidence and practiced skills she struggled with. I prepared lessons to ensure the content of her school curriculum and future exam board content was covered so she would feel more prepared to start in year 10.
During my Master's research project, I lead interviews with children with Down Syndrome and their parents. I learnt how to effectively build rapport to create an open and safe environment to assist the sharing of information. I became skilled at relaying complex scientfic information in a way that is easy to understand. Additionally, I was responsible for setting up research equipment to prepare for the day, organizing files and supporting administrative tasks and thus am competent in organisational and planning skills.

Hello my name is Louie I am a 19 year old university student currently studying environmental geoscience at the university of southampton. My course is a mixture of Geology including Geochemistry with also Oceanography, Geography and some environmental science aspects like Ecology. At GCSE level I was extremely interested in science particularly Chemistry and Biology. This lead to me getting a 9 in Biology and a 7 in Chemistry at GCSE level and choosing them both at A-level. At A-level I achieved a B grade in both of them which allowed me to study and one of the UK's russel group universities in Southampton. Other things to know about me are that I love sport especially golf and rugby. I also get on extremely well with children and would love to use my prior knowledge of GCSE subjects to teach those that are getting ready for exams.

I’m a vastly experienced tutor with over 5 years experience, specializing in the core subjects (Science & English) for the GCSE years. I’ve managed to build a flourishing tutoring business that has helped an eclectic mix of students across state and public schools, both online and in person, both individually and sometimes in groups. I’ve worked with high-achievers, aiding them to secure grades 7-9, through to those less able (including some with mental health issues). With my guidance, no child has failed an exam and most of them have experienced significant boosts in their grades (the average being an enhancement of 2-3 grades within one academic year). I’ve also home-schooled students in the last two years taking full responsibility for both triple science and English courses, exam evidence and student grading. I’m passionate and dedicated to nurturing the innate abilities of all students and find the solutions which best enable them to learn and grow as individuals.
My role is often to take seemingly complex or difficult subject matter and break it down into digestible bite-size chunks. With limited time per session, I have to extract the information from an entire module or two (which will often be learnt over several weeks in school) and transpose this knowledge effectively within an hour. I’ve found that by applying structures and simplifying content, one can significantly improve students’ understanding and performance. I offer a different method to a traditional 'school experience’ and one that has garnered excellent results. Below are two specific case studies that I’ve outlined.
