My approach to tutoring is tailored to the individual needs of each student. I am currently a teacher of science / biology at an independent school in Wakefield, teaching KS3 Science, GCSE Biology and 'A' level Biology. Having taught students of all abilities for over 25 years, I have experience in developing individual students learning to allow the student to progress to a level that allows them to obtain grades above their indicator levels.
My teaching is thorough, focusing on the key aspects of the specification and targeting the students learning to examination techniques, that will allow them to access key marking points in order to obtain high levels of attainment.

I completed my secondary science PGCE in 2015. I am a Biology specialist, however, I have good subject knowledge and experience of teaching in all three sciences. I am also highly adaptable. I have taught across key stage 3 and key stage 4, including year 11 groups who I taught physics, chemistry and biology. I have been included in general CPD in schools and also in departmental moderation of marking across GCSE. I refuse to believe that any student cannot succeed in a subject, especially something as versatile and flexible as science and maths, there is always a way to get through to any student. While this is more of a personal belief, I have yet to see anything to the contrary. I have also received weekly training sessions by specialists in school on teaching both SEN and EAL students and improving my own pedagogy.
