The Musical Box is a privately owned and run music school dedicated to teaching contemporary music skills in drums, guitar (acoustic and electric), bass guitar, piano/ keyboards, ukulele and vocals to students of all ages and abilities. We offer a comprehensive and varied syllabus to cater for beginners, grade students, intermediate players and experiences/ semi professional musicians. While TMB is a ‘School of Rock’, we also teach classical, jazz, folk, pop, funk, soul and all points in between. Every teacher at TMB is handpicked and chosen for a combination of his/her qualifications, music capabilities and the ability to communicate and empathise with people from all walks of life. All teachers are DBS checked before working at TMB.
TMB believe passionately that fun and pleasure in making music are fundamental to good learning so that while every lesson, within reason, is planned and tailored to the student’s individual requirements, the key element will be just that – FUN! Once you have honed your skills in your personalised one to one lessons, we believe whole heartedly that playing an instrument or singing is best done with other people, although this is not compulsory!! So at The Musical Box we actively encourage musicians to meet and play with other likeminded students for fun or for more serious ambitions as well as take lessons. TMB want music to be seen as a serious career choice for those who take it that seriously and aim to provide the skills and experiences required to make it in the music industry. We also appreciate more and more every day what great stress buster music is, and how sociable and relaxing it can be to play for an hour with a band or teacher learning to better your skill and improve your well being.
