Started by tutoring my friends sister for 3 years in a row from national 5 to advanced higher chemistry. She lacked confidence and understanding in the subject at the beginning, and was expecting to fail national 5, but managed to pass right the way through to advanced higher with grades she was satisfied with. Both her and her mum said I was very good at explaining things simply and that I should pursue tutoring further. Since then I have tutored via FindTutors and am able to explain concepts and problems which are not understood by the student and make them fully understandable. I like to take concepts and problems back to the very basics and build up from there as I think its the easiest way for students to get a full understanding and build that up gradually. I find often the use of analogies and drawing things out for a more clear visual picture is very helpful in doing this. |
