I am a dedicated and passionate mathematics and physics tutor, specialising in A-Level and IB Mathematics seeking to transition from academia to full-time tutoring. I have seven years experience teaching at the University of Oxford, where I received an award for excellence in teaching and further experience in one- to-one tuition, both privately and through leading tuition agencies such as Tutors International. I have supported students through applications to competitive schools, and during exam preparation. A particular highlight was helping an A-Level mathematics student raise her grade from a D to an A within a year through a tailored programme of intensive sessions and remote support.
For seven years, I have been closely involved in Oxford University’s mathematics admissions process, including writing mark schemes, marking MAT tests, developing interview questions, leading candidate interviews, and contributing to admissions decisions. This has given me an excellent understanding of the expectations of top-tier mathematics programs which I am now able to incorporate in to my teachings and would be of particular benefit to students preparing for university. Fostering enthusiasm for mathematics gives me great joy, particularly among students who have lost confidence or interest in the subject, and I am passionate about supporting students in overcoming mental blocks and helping them develop strong problem-solving skills.
