Edit Broad, the founder of German Connections, was born and educated in Germany.

In 1971 she married and moved to the UK and trained as a language teacher. She commenced her career teaching in Adult Education Colleges, local schools and 6th Form Colleges.

In response to demands for a more personalised tuition service, than offered by the tradional language school, in 1984, German Connections was founded.
