Hi, I'm Zoe!
I've been a primary school teacher for 14 years and a Special Educational Needs Coordinator for the past 8. My passion is in helping children learn and grow in which ever way they do best. I'd love to help in any way I can to support your children in reaching their full potenetial with confidence. My speicalism is identifying what the barriers to their learning may be and finding fun, interactive and inventive ways of helping them break those barriers down. Best of all, let's make learning exciting and teach children to be proud of themselves and of all of their achievements however little they may be x

We love music and believe in its power to transform lives. We try to help everyone through music, using it as a tool for personal and social change to reach the most vulnerable people in the community. We love to play, to bring people together and engage and nurture enthusiasm and talent.
Coda provides a place to learn, train and develop and offers help and support through participation and therapy.
We offer music tuition for all ages and abilities in piano, strings, woodwind, guitars, drums and vocals. Lessons can be one-to-one, in pairs or groups – depending on preference and budget. Classes are offered at a variety of times – just get in touch for current availability.
Our music lessons are competitively priced and a Taster Session at just £5 enables you to try us out with no commitment.
I have been an Art & Design teacher in the Southampton area since September 1997. My experience of working as a free-lance artist/illustrator has been an essential skill throughout my teaching career, providing learners with a wider knowledge of creative practice during tutorials and group presentations and giving the student an experienced insight of working as a professional practitioner either after their degree or in terms of work based learning after a sixth form programme.
I have always fostered excellent relationships with my students and particularly prize the strong working relationships I have developed with a range of learners. I also feel in some cases that it is important to develop links with parents allowing them to support and encourage the students further in their education.
Within my time in education I have produced dynamic and creative areas of learning which offer a range of academic and vocational courses where students have experienced studying from level 1 to level 4. I have assisted younger students with their progression from school as well as adult learners into college and onto higher education and employment. I aim to develop students work to meet or exceed the requirements of their expected qualifications, learning goals or employment. I ensure that the students feel happy and confident in their studies. I strongly believe that students should be able to express themselves and understand the world around them. Through their studies students should be able to communicate their thoughts and ideas and demonstrate the development of their practical skills. I am enthusiastic about encouraging students through my pastoral role to research their subjects and their progressionary aims using appropriate resources such as journals, books and appropriate internet sites. I have provided good liaison throughout my time in education between schools, colleges and local HE providers such as Southampton Solent University, The Arts University Bournemouth and Winchester School of Art. I am always constantly striving to improve student confidence through high quality teaching and learning. I am now keen to use and develop my skills and knowledge within the wider area of art and design teaching and I am particularly excited about tutoring individual students to fulfil their individual goals.
In addition to the teaching of A-Level Sociology, I have experience of teaching other subjects to A-Level such as Psychology and Citizenship. I have a proven track record of ensuring the students I teach achieve far above the national average in terms of their results. I am an effective, lead teacher of Sociology with a range of different teaching and learning techniques to help secure the best possible grade for the individual student.
I am a qualified science teacher (PGCE, QTS) with 20 years continuous experience, the last 18 years of it in a top ranking, outstanding comprehensive. I have an honours degree in Applied Chemistry (University of Salford), PGCE (University of Portsmouth), and A levels in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
I am passionate about my subject and love helping students to engage in science and to access the trickier parts of the subject. I have also worked on some of the basic concepts with those who really struggle and need to revisit work from Key Stage 3.
I am currently tutoring GCSE chemistry (including the triple components) and would also consider students needing help with KS3 science.
I have a very large bank of resources and can prepare tests or leveled questions for individual topics as required. You can choose whether to do some of the questions as ‘homework’ or do them together as part of the lesson.
If your child is struggling and you are unable to meet the full cost of tutoring (see below), then please get in touch and I will see what I can do to help you.
