I am an extremely experienced teacher/tutor and examiner of A level Psychology and Sociology. I have experience of tutoring for AQA, OCR, Edexcel and Cambridge International for Psychology and AQA for Sociology.

In my years of teaching and tutoring at A level, I have built up a wealth of resources that are used and shared with my tutees in helping them consistently achieve A* and A grades.
My approach to tutoring is to be flexible and approachable so that students feel free to ask any questions that they wish.
My examining experience is second to none, having been Chief Examiner for A level Psychology and senior positions for A level Sociology. I am currently a senior examiner for A level Psychology.
My tutoring is always totally exam focused, aided by my examining experience which gives me invaluable insight into how the exams are marked and what the exam boards are looking for.
My knowledge of Psychology and Sociology is very strong as I have published textbooks related to the A level Psychology specifications.

I gained QTS in 2012 and spent over 10 years delivering outstanding lessons at one of the top rated Grammar schools in England. I was personally highlighted during my time there as achieving the best A- level results in the school, which was measured on pupil’s individual progression. I have 3 years of experience as a private 1:1 tutor where I teach online via Zoom. Students I work with make great progress (often jumping 2-3 grade boundaries within the first term) under my tutoring programme due to my experienced background and previous examining duties.
My approach is to be supportive, encouraging yet constructive in my feedback in order for my students to progress. My online sessions are personalised to meet the needs of the individual learner and are always tailored to the specific examination board being studied. I use various methods including delivering content that the tutee might not have grasped yet and I ensure to focus time each session on exam techniques in relation to short and essay based questions. I have a wide range of support material available and will often use this within the sessions such as model answers and examiner commentaries. My techniques are tried, tested and very effective.
I have been a science teacher for the past 6/7 years in Staffordshire. Last year my classes achieved an average of two grades above their GCSE target grades. The school I am currently teaching at in Staffordshire is ranked 4th in the county in terms of progress 8.
I am a well qualified graduate achieving an upper second class degree in biology at the university of Liverpool. I have been tutoring both biology and chemistry for the past two years on tutorhunt. During this time, I have helped multiple students achieve excellent grades in science.

I am friendly, approachable and enjoy making learning meaningful for pupils. My lessons begin with starting activities to recap the previous learning, identify any misconceptions. Moving onto the main part of the lesson I plan activities promoting fluency in the skill then application to a real-life situation or worded exam-style question. Games and quizzes can be fun and useful in testing rapid recall.

I am currently a Medical student at Keele and a graduate from the University of Salford, achieving a 1st in my degree in Human Biology and Infectious Disease. Achieving the highest mark within my university. I was responsible for a programme known as GEMMS which is for supporting students in their medicine/dentistry applications, assisting them in interview technique and for the entrance exams.

I begin my classes by asking the student what they want to learn or discuss during the session. If they have a doubt in a concept, I will ask them to explain the same concept to me in their own words and correct them wherever necessary. I will provide some good methods to study or approach that topic. I will conclude the lesson by asking them if there is anything they would like to discuss in our next session so that I could prepare some questions in advance. I will also regularly be assessing your improvement through the use of practice papers to get an idea of where the student is at and how they can further improve. Upon leaving school after my A Levels, I went to university to study Tourism Business Management, graduating in 2003. After leaving university I spent nearly 17 years working in logistics and supply chain management, working with a number of large national, multinational and global companies across a lot of different business sectors. Just under two years ago I decided to move into the education sector and use my knowledge and experience to help develop our next generation. I predominantly work delivering business, enterprise, and career challenges and workshops in schools across the United Kingdom, where I have worked with, in excess of 26,000 young people of all ages and a variety of different backgrounds. During my final years in my old career and the first year of my new career I also studied part time to gain an MBA (Master of Business Administration) degree through The Open University, graduating in 2022.
Outside of my main employment I provide life coaching and career mentoring, and I have also done a variety of charity and voluntary work which has given me an understanding of the non-profit making industries in business. In addition, I have experience and qualifications for working with individuals with special educational needs and disabilities, and I have dyslexia myself which motivates me to help those with similar needs. The key thing I can offer as a tutor is a strong knowledge of business theories and practices and the experience of how they relate into the real world of business across a variety of different industries.
