I source most of my tutees via word of mouth recommendation and through my facebook page Milborne Maths.
I use the zoom platform to host my lessons and have an online calendar that students usually book from.
Please message and I shall do my best to accommodate both of our needs and hopefully we are suited for maths lessons together!

With post-graduate qualifications in English language teaching and extensive experience (20+ years) in a range of contexts with learners of all ages, backgrounds and professions, I am passionate about helping people achieve their language goals. I have lived abroad and speak a number of languages which helps me to understand the needs of language learners.
I am skilled in teaching general English, business & professional English, academic English, English for specific purposes (e.g. hospitality) and exam preparation (e.g. IELTS, CAE, FCE, BEC). I currently have students from Brazil, China, South Korea, Spain, Italy, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Norway, The Netherlands, Poland, Hungary, The Czech Republic, Romania, Ukraine.
I have extremely high expectations of myself as a teacher and expect my students to be motivated and to work hard. I try to make my lessons individualised, informative and inspiring and I find this helps to drive students towards their goals.
In addition to teaching, I do a lot of proof-reading and editing work for students at university.

I have many years experience of teaching A-level Chemistry and Biology at Sixth form Colleges in Somerset and London. I am currently teaching GCSE and A-level Chemistry at a private school in Dorset.
I prefer to conduct the first two-three sessions with students in person (I'm happy to travel to clients houses) as this allows me to get to know the students better. I'm offering my services principally because I genuinely enjoy helping young people to achieve their potential (rather than to earn money), hence my preference for in-person tutoring. After 2-3 initial sessions, I'm happy to either switch to online sessions or continue with in person sessions (or a mixture of both). Therefore, I would prefer students who live in the Yeovil/Sherborne areas - or weithin 10 miles of Yeovil).
I'm happy to provide tuition in all aspects of A-level or GCSE Chemistry or Biology.

First session is free to discuss with student/parent where the student is up to in the course and what areas they feel confident with; in this session we can begin to go over something small within the course and get to know each other, while finalising a set day and time to have the session.

I have been a History teacher in a large secondary school for nearly 15 years. I have mainly taught History and EPQ but can also teach Religious Studies and Government and Politics. Having also been a Head of Year I am understanding that all students learn in a different way and that a tutor can help to recognise effective ways that individuals learn and maximise them in a focussed environment. I have a great love for the humanities subjects and will be an enthusiastic and welcoming tutor for you, whatever your needs are.
