Before moving to Norwich, Norfolk, Raymond W., BA Hons/PGSE. (Mr Grade) spent the early part of his life, growing up in the East End of London.
As a mature student, Mr Grade gained his BA Honours Degree in English and Psychology in 2001. He continued his academic career by achieving a Post Graduate Degree in Education for Students at 16 plus, teaching English and Psychology within a College and Sixth Form setting.
Mr Grade found that students who struggled in the college setting had ‘gaps’ missing from their previous education in the lower schools. As a result, Mr Grade felt that he could help students by achieving a Qualified Teaching Status so that he could better prepare students in Secondary Education. Mr Grade is passionate about young people progressing, successfully, to either their academic or work-related careers at college.
Mr Grade has taught in the Primary setting, teaching the English skills that young children need, to enter confidently, into Secondary Education.
Mr Grade believes in ‘giving back to the community’ the chances that education had given him, which spurred him to teach both young people and mature students so they become ‘the very best versions of www.*** ;
In recent years, he has successfully taught English Language and Literature up to GCSE in both Norfolk, Suffolk and Online!

I have an approachable nature, a sense of humour and a keen eye on academic requirements. I strive to bring out the full potential in all my students. I have high expectations of pupils and myself, valuing effort as well as results. As an examiner, I can look at devemoping the students understanding and to convert the reposnses to one that will gain marks in the examination.

I live in Bungay, a small town in Suffolk (not far from Norwich); and work on a freelance basis, to support care work for a family member. My professional background is journalism and politics - I worked for the Conservative Party (including at Number Ten Downing Street) for four years and have kept up my links with political affairs through my journalism; following the Conservative Party I worked for the BBC, in the main newsroom in London - in news and features; domestic and some foreign stories. I enjoyed this immensely and found it very rewarding, particularly the research / interviewing and developing features.
After leaving the BBC in 2007 and having my first child, and a family trauma which resulted in me having to re-locate, I continued journalism on a freelance basis and set up a family charity; raising money for child amputees in developing countries. I was a Trustee for the charity and started a new writing career, writing about the Second World War. I now have three Second World War books published, and a poetry anthology I created as a fundraiser. These are all listed below - I love helping people and learning more about them; and would like now to share my skills as a writer by doing some work as a personal tutor. Thank you!
(My journalism training was at the Journalism Training Centre, in Mitcham, South London - received a Level IV NVQ but unfortunately cannot locate the certificate.)

Hello, I am an English Teacher at a Secondary school in Norwich. My previous work experience includes working as a teaching assistant, nanny and a cinema manager!
I am experienced in teaching GCSE and key stage 3, as well as English as a foreign language. I have also run creative writing groups in the past.
I have taught adults and children in my lifetime and I hope to bring clarification and understanding to the subject matter, and all of my lessons will work towards their goals.
I hold safeguarding and mental health first aid certificates and a current DBS check. I also have a TEFL level 5 certificate. They can be viewed upon request.
The first lesson is free, so you can decide if tutoring suits you/your child. Send me a message today, and I will reply as soon as I can.
Thank you,
Nisha

I am a final year student of Masters Degree in Chemistry at the University of East Anglia.
I am about to move onto doing my Post-Graduate Research Project for 3 years in using metals to understand more about DNAs different structures, which has applications in medical diagnosis and drug improvement for things like cancer.
I love chemistry and science because it's the reason why we have such amazing medical treatment, developments in the understanding of the planet and the universe around us, improving every day life for normal people, and the endless opportunities open to us! It is also a lot of fun to do experiments in the laboratory!
I can show you how, even though science may seem hard, it can be fun and much easier to understand if you use different techniques and methods to learning. I will show you how to use different techniques for exam papers, exam stress and anxiety, revision, scheduling, time management, and mainly how to enjoy your learning!

FCL has four centres in Norfolk. We have 200+ children enrolled. Many do both maths and English. Ages range from 4 to 16, and abilities from gifted to struggling. Most are average children who can "do better".
We open at one centre or another after school on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and on Saturday mornings. There is no fixed arrival time, and students usually drop in once a week (some come twice a week, others as little as once a month).
Parents include teachers and educational psychologists. We have local children who have been with us for years (two current children have passed the 10-year mark).

Your child’s primary school years are crucial, especially as they draw to a close and secondary school approaches!
Could your child use some support ahead of the SATs tests? Perhaps they just want to avoid the ‘summer slump’ or need more confidence or fluency in English or Maths. If so, enquire about tutoring sessions with me!
Most of my work has been with children in Upper Key Stage Two (Years 5 and 6). However, with over ten years of experience in the classroom and at leadership level in primary schools, I am open to working with any and all primary age children.
• 10+ years of teaching experience (in the UK and the USA) • Former English Subject Leader with a record of driving improvement in reading and writing • Participate Learning Teacher of the Year Winner, 2021 • Teacher of the Year in a Primary School (Highly Commended), Essex Teaching Awards, 2018 • Available in evenings and weekends • Home visits preferred • Able to offer online/virtual sessions
